I was going off the bike register email I have which has two numbers in, neither in that format. Just went and looked at the bike and I can't actually confirm the number stamped into the frame without removing the cables and that is a bit too much faff, sorry.

Well, these have been in Fluid Of Death for ages now- zero effect.

Eh. Are these anodised? Did anyone suggest oven cleaner (Mr Muscle) up thread?

I would like to paint them - are those silver due to being bare alloy, or painted silver do you think?

I recon shot blasting is your friend. There's a place Crayford that does it.

You could try I Cleenz Machines in Penge who specialise in delicate stuff and do vapour and soda blasting.

Well, they should be fairly well degreased, so there won't be oil spots interfering with your de-anodising solution 😀

try oven cleaner, if they're anodised it'll strip it no problem. Otherwise as mentioned you'll have to get them shot blasted or sanded.

It will also completely dissolve the parts once it's gone through the anodising so don't go leaving it in overnight
