  • Fibrelyte will do one if you ask nicely. It might be cheaper to swap to 5700/6700 cranks which take readily available 130mm PCD track rings

I'm sure Bikepunx would do you a stainless steel one, which would be cheap and you could tell everybody the reduced friction was a #marginalgain which outweighed the extra weight.

  • Woohoo! Congrats!

  • That's great, thank you!

  • Re the talk of evoc bags @dammit @sumo @theflatboy @Stoo61 @underuser53929

What size car do they fit into. Am considering selling my bike box alan as it won’t fit new mountain bike and going for evoc pro instead. Don’t want to end up having to hire an estate car on holiday.

  • Fit in my old man's Audi S3 with the seats down.

  • whats a good source to buy a beanbag from?

  • How bad is it that I used Boesheild T-9 on the inside of my pump? The pump wasn't inflating anything. It's back to new after putting a few drops inside. But, I'm now a bit concerned that I've just condemned the rubber seals to a certain imminent death. Have I just killed my pump?

  • If T9 was going to kill synthetic rubber seals, they wouldn't let it anywhere near aircraft.

  • If T9 was going to kill synthetic rubber seals, they wouldn't let it anywhere near aircraft.

Hadn't thought of that! I always thought mineral based oils dried out synthetic rubber seals. But, obviously, I wasn't thinking that yesterday when adding T9 to my pump.

  • mineral oil used in brakes doesn’t dry out rubber seals ?

  • Anyone speak/read French and understand Internet packages?

I want to find out how much a broadband deal is (assuming its available) that will cope with multi-person zoon / teams calls.

    Cheers.

  • Anyone speak/read French and understand Internet packages?

Enough French to understand ISP offers, just looked on Orange.fr and 400Mbit/s fibre is €22.99 a month for the first year then €41.99. About €7 more for 1 Gbit/s

  • Cheers.

Really handy you picked Orange as well.

  • Is Campag Strada, Super Record?

I’ve got some Strada cranks but I always thought Strada was a lower level model.

  • Is Campag Strada, Super Record?

Strada just means road, as opposed to Pista. There are Record and Super Record variants of the road cranks. Assuming I'm correctly guessing which period, there are about half a dozen distinct variants of 1049 Record Strada cranks and several more of 1049/A Super Record Strada

  • Ah, that would make a lot more sense. Cheers!

  • The Nuovo Record Strada cranks and the Super Record cranks are the same. The super Record came with different chainrings and a titanium bottom bracket (from OMAS)

Similarly the Nuovo Record brake callipers were the same as Super Record. Just the Super Record came with alloy (not steel) brake shoes.

Simply Campag getting their moneys worth lol

  • I've got a fork with a steel thin-walled 1,1/8" steerer tube. What size star nut should I use for this, and where can I buy it from? The star nuts I have in my parts bin (e.g. the one supplied with the headset, a cane creek) is a bit too small, but definitely isn't 1".

  • Try a hope head doctor was my original comment.

But hope say not to use it with steel steerer tubes. https://www.hopetech.com/products/accessories/head-doctor/head-doctor/

  • Trialtech / tartybikes sell a few different sizes of 1 1/8” star nut.

  • Yup; cheers though. I think the larger star nut might be a good option @MCamb
