  • Good idea, but unfortunately the VM crashes when I try. Not sure if it's a hardware issue (I'm trying to interface with a device which connects to the car, so there are some drivers being installed), but have tried a few times with no luck (with windows xp and 7).

  • It was actually a problem I needed to solve too, but had put to one side, so thanks for nudge!

  • Can you just dual boot?

Or could even run it off a USB. Seems something like this is well reviewed (and low risk if you're just installing to a usb anyway)

  • Can you just dual boot?

Would do, but the hardware requires a 32bit system and I've only got 64bit laptops.

  • You can install 32bit/x86 Windows on x64 architecture

  • Would do, but the hardware requires a 32bit system and I've only got 64bit laptops.

You can still install 32 bit windows on a 64 bit machine. This was really common for a few years when you had to pay extra for the 64 bit version.

  • My girlfriend is a non cyclist but wants to get an exercise bike. What's decent at the lower end of the budget spectrum?

  • I haven’t seen this irl but think it looks quite promising

  • Sorry, I meant more like a stationary, indoor exercise bike!

  • Get a wheel on turbo trainer. And a bike. That way she had the option to take the bike out for a ride if she starts to enjoy it. When she doesn’t you still have a turbo you can use yourself.

  • Oh hah, soz.

And Yeah aren’t exercise bikes really just glorified clothes horses? I agree with the turbo + bike idea

  • This is what I'm pushing for! She has expressed an interest in actually getting a bike so I don't think it's too much of a leap.

  • Took my front wheel out and noticed this wear on the back of the fork. Clearly a result of the clip on mudguard rubbing at the back of the fork over winter, compounded by rain/grit etc.

It doesn't look like there's any cracks, and that this is just the layer of paint that's been worn off. Should I be concerned? Bike has disc brakes, so lots of stress through the fork.

  • I need a grid of 50x50 16mm squares printed out (onto multiple A4 sheets which I will then stick together)

    How can I do this?

  • @moocher Here's you grid at 1:1, but figuring out the tiled printing I'll leave to you as InDesign won't let me tiled-print to PDF for some reason. If you want the grid split up into A4 chunks (+ 10mm margin) that's achievable but I'm not putting in crop marks for you.

  • why not just do as many will fit on 1 A4, then print as many as you need, trimming/overlapping as you go?

  • I need one of these that will fit a transformer plug rather than a standard plug. I've definitely seen one somewhere but struggling to find it again. Anyone know where I can get such a thing (that isn't going to take weeks coming from China). Cheers

  • Like this?

    Or that website perhaps.

    (I know nothing)

  • like this 17x12 offering (with crop marks, such generosity)

  • No expert but if it's white then it's still just in the cosmetic clear coat and top layer of epoxy.
I wouldn't be worried at all about that myself

  • that 2nd one is perfect :)

I'd have been fucking about for hours.

  • Cheers. That should do the job.

  • How do those fitbit style fitness trackers work?

You wear it and it syncs to your phone and tells you what your stats are, what exercise you've done and prompts you to do stuff?

    Are the budget ones shit?

I'm trying to think of a cheap Easter present for my dad who has everything and could do with a bit more exercise.

Will be used with iOS if that matters.

    Cheers.

  • Even the one I got from Aliexpress for £3.81 works well enough.

Bought the one you have linked to for my partners neighbour, she is in her mid seventies and likes the option of larger text, to read the time.

The companion app is pretty good as well.
