There was a cheap one in Lidl a while ago. I almost pulled the trigger but after asking around it sounded like it was better to spend a bit more and get something better.
Goes to show that the welder you own is better than one you don't.

There's a whole variety of wifi ones out there or the new hue ones work with bluetooth.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=no+hub&rh=n%3A4540998031&ref=nb_sb_nossPersonally I'd go for the TP-link/Kasa ones. Stuff I have of theirs seems decent.

Yep, forgot to say if you get the Kasa ones, they have their own native app which means you can set up routines etc, combining lights with smart plugs as well.

What electric toothbrush should I buy?
Do they do wireless charging or at least USB-C yet? What about heads that last forever? It's 2020. Come on sheeple. I've got teeth to maintain.

Much better than that induction charging

Does anyone work in planning and can explain to me why we need to mark and detail where all of our plug sockets, light switches and lights are. We are enlarging an existing opening between two rooms, the electrics won't be touched during the work.

My main gripe in all this is 2 pin plugs. We don't have one in the bathroom and I keep losing the bloody adapter.

Do you live in a Listed property? Planning don't usually get involved in the interiors. Do you mean Building Control?

Thanks man. This has helped a lot. It's still tight as anything in there but the wheels turn.
Thanks all. I think ultimately a new fork is the answer but at least this gets things back on the road.

Even better now you get a little glass thing you can use to wash your mouth and which charges the toothbrush -

OK, TP-link it is.
Can they be programmed to initiate a gradual dimmer sequence?
To for example mimic a sunrise by steadily increasing in brightness over, say, 30 minutes. -

Is it the case that adaptors exist to fit PM/IS calipers to flat mount frames, but not the other way round?
-
• #104364
There's a Canadian company which does it:

Just checked Kasa app. Yes, they can fade in/out over up to 60 mins.

• #104366
Yup I mean building control and I finally go through to who was dealing it it! Despite it being splattered all over the drawings, in emails and on the submission he didn't realise that the electrics were all existing and there were no new installations. 6 months of wasted time

I would like a Hunstman model SAK, with the Alox scales, how do I go about achieving this?
-
• #104368
I'd ask that question in the knife porn thread.

I couldn't remember the name of that thread, thanks.

Car roof racks, what's the go to? Do the aluminium aero ones make a big difference? They seem jump up in price massively, happy to pay for quality, just don't know anything about them (or anything to do with cars in general).

• #104371
Depends if you leave them on all the time, with mine on and two bikes on I do notice a difference in fuel consumption, but this is over 300-400 mile journeys. But it is not a great deal of difference.
I do not leave them permanently affixed.

Thule is the grade A
-
• #104373
Yep, Thule all the way. Good quality, easy to buy spares, and good to use. I had some official Subaru bars when I had the Scooby, which weren't Thule, and they were so nasty I dreaded having to use them.

Another vote for Thule.

Cheers everyone thule it is then.
We use the TP Kasa ones, doesn't have any hub, works through Google Home, and cheap enough too.
