  • is there any cheaper way to move 4 dining chairs from SE22 to N6 than Addisson Lee (£50)?

  • cheaper way to move 4 dining chairs from SE22 to N6 than Addisson Lee (£50)?

Small van on City Sprint is about £37 during office hours

  • oh, that'd be a good thing to do imo.

    Thanks

  • Wow, you're either ignoring a lot of users or a few very prolific ones.

  • by using the @willmelling feature you are probably now on that ignore list

  • you are probably now on that ignore list

That would explain 277 of the missing pages🙂

  • Can someone recommend a free PDF viewer that will allow me to edit (W10)?

All the editing features would be great, but I could live with just being able to delete and insert pages.

    Cheers.

  • Can anyone explain Wiggle DHB mens' bibs sizing?

Seem to have hip measurements only about 4cm bigger than waist, whereas other brands (Castelli, Rapha, Kalas) have hips about 14-17cm bigger, which seems reasonable.

  • Can anyone explain Wiggle DHB mens' bibs sizing?

I suspect a typo, they probably meant to call them DB for dad bod

  • Has @edscoble bought a titanium bike in the past?

  • They aren’t completely consistent across the range. I usually have to buy multiple styles and sizes and send most of them back. I’m 5’10, skinny, 30” waist and XL in dhb non race fit bibs.

  • I guess I'll have to buy a few sizes too. I'm old-fashioned enough to have never done that before... Cheers

Hmm, they must've really changed. Same height/waist and I'm always between small and medium in DHB

  • I’m between small and medium in normal clothes. I swear with bike clothing they sometimes throw all the sizes in a hat and draw them out at random!

  • I find it a lot with shorts (as in loose shorts, not lycra). They'll be super tight and stretching at the button in one size, and then too loose everywhere the next size up. I've got a box full of mtb etc shorts that just aren't quite right.

  • Anyone have experience of whether these work?

  • Anyone travelling to/or from the USA to the U.K, in the near future?

  • I bought some cheapo rigid forks, and asked my LBS to fit the crown race (Cane Creek 40 EC30). They tried (perhaps rather too spiritedly) and my crown race is now looking distinctly misshapen.
They tell me that the crown OD is 0.5mm too big for the race (26.9 vs 26.4).
    Questions:

    1. What's the best way to reduce the OD of the steerer crown?
    2. If this isn't feasible, is there a crown race that's compatible with a cane creek 40 which would fit?

It can be done on a lathe, but I think there is a specific annular cutter* that does the diameter to size and faces the seat flat in one op.

If it's actually 26.9, it falls between sizes, should be 26.5mm to press fit a 26.4mm ISO crown race or 27.1mm to press fit a 27.0mm JIS crown race

*e.g. Park Tool CRC-1 with the #845 cutter

  • asked my LBS

They might be local, but I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole if they don't measure before attempting the press, since any halfway competent bicycle mechanic should be aware of the fact that ISO and JIS are different. The bare minimum they should do at this point is mill the fork to ISO and supply a new crown race.

  • I normally don't use them, but my preferred LBS isn't fitting customer supplied parts currently due to COVID workload.
This one told me they measured beforehand, but gave it a go anyway. I'm rather unimpressed.
Is trying to put a JIS crown race on there stupid? If so I'll hit up the decent LBS and see if they can mill the fork.
