  • That makes a lot of sense .. cheers

  • Any way to stop debit card usage out of hours? HSBC fraud is 8am-10pm and someone has currently spent £3k in the last hour at North Face, net a porter and house of Fraser.

Also, am presuming I'll be able to recover the money? It's a business account.

  • Bit late but don't they have an emergency line for lost/stolen cards or general service that's open all hours? Should be able to block a card until you can deal with fraud team to resolve issues.

  • Can you also call those shops and get their customer service to cancel the orders? Doesn’t help you but I’d want the satisfaction of knowing they don’t get a bunch of free shopping

  • Seemingly no 24 hour number! :)

They did however start declining payments after about 3am and the card is now blocked / HSBC say they're going to refund it all which, in answer to @PhilDAS means the payments will bounce today and they shouldn't be processed. Small satisfaction.

  • Weird. Looks like only the lost/stolen card number is 24h for business: 0345 600 7010.

  • What are the possible causes the back end of a bike feeling a bit squirmy under cornering? Just the slight sensation that the back wheel is going more sideways than expected. I'm running a big (2.0") tyre, but it's up to pressures; no visible cracks in the frame, rim or hub; the spokes are all intact, although the NDS on the back wheel feel a little under-tensioned; back skewer and axle are both intact. A couple of days back I felt (through my feet) a clonk from my bike as if something broke, but I cannot find anything visibly amiss and have ridden it without incident since.

  • You're better at searching than me.

Couldn't see it on the card or on the site at 1 in the morning.

Still have pretty empty accounts though! They went up to £7k in the end. Amusingly they made a £2k purchase at Evans Cycles. So it's basically someone on here.

  • Is the tyre running true? Wheel bearings?

  • The wheel bearings feel sticky (like the grease is a bit old and gummy) but not notchy or rumbly. I've not checked that the tyre has deformed but I've not noticed anything suring my inspection of the rim nor have I noticed any weird sensations when riding straight on smooth roads.

  • No reason why not other than feeling the odd sensation of the housing on the drop.

  • Have you considered cycle training?

  • Are you saying I shouldn't lean?

  • Have you considered consulting an audiologist?

    ftfy

  • Are you saying I shouldn't squirm?

    Fixed.

  • Fixed.

    Geared actually.

  • Operator error, you have a weird feeling arse.

  • Is the saddle ok? I have snapped rails on a couple in the past and the bikes then felt oddly spongey until isolated the issue and replaced.

  • Hang on, I'm just feeling my arse to confirm...

I will check the saddle though.

  • Does anyone know how to change the email address a Google account is associated with?

I accidentally linked my Google account with a Gmail account I use as spare/spam instead of my usual MS/Outlook email. This has thrown all of my backups out, as well as just being a dick move I want to reverse.

This has happened once before but I can't remember how I fixed it.

This the info in this link doesn't work/isn't accurate:
    https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1045580?hl=en

Everything Ive tried that seems obvious is telling me to suck Google's balls. For eg trying to delete the hugo7spam@gmail.com account from my phone in settings.

  • Sort of linked, how do you search all the comments made by you on here?

  • Tap on your username and then the 'Comments' number on your profile.
If you the do a search it will have applied your username as a filter.

  • Up to £9k on the stolen card now : ) there were pending payments which only went through today. 2 separate orders of £1k at TM Lewin. You'd have thought HSBC might have flagged it on the call the other day.

I don't really understand how this type of fraud works. Surely online purchases have to be delivered somewhere. Presumably, it's too common/just too much work for retailers / police to actually go to the addresses and get the people ordering it?
