Leather brooks bag driving me mad .
I think this is the third replacement, I think they have stopped making this version .
Bag is great , strap fixings just not up to the job
Tenax press stud like attachment always fails .
Any suggest for a permanent fixed replacement?
Where to get it done , I was hoping for a person used to leather work it would be simple , any advice
Thanks in advance

Running bar end shifter cables completely under the bar tape, any (good) reason why not to do it?
-
• #100560
Depends on the bend I guess, but setting them up the trad way makes for a shorter, straighter run with likely better shifting.

• #100561
True, no arguing there. Just don't like the looks of it. Maybe it has to grow on me.

- Cables and housing need to be really long
- you can feel the cable when you're in the drops
- can be difficult to route past levers in a comfortable way
- difficult to affix the end of the tape whilst trying run the cable underneath at the same time. You'll probably have to tape it depending on your shifter
I wouldn't say they're good reasons though

Think I'm gonna try it anyway. Too stubborn not to.

Yeah it's better IMO. For sure if you're doing bar bags/basketpacking/etc., you want it under the tape to keep the housing out of the way

IKEA stolmen. What is as good and reasonably priced please?
I just need 2 strong poles, some way of securing them to floor and ceiling then two cross poles for the hanging rail.I dont/can't trust Amazon reviews
I can't drill into plaster wall, hence floor ceiling bizness. -

You'll need tandem length inner for the rear, apart from that, fine.

I do
I can probably fix it. -

I'm not familiar with the bag, but does that fitting have to take any weight?

Surly manufacturers have made their cables longer, due to how disc brake cables have to run the additional length of the chain stay?
But thanks for the tip; will have to check.

I thought you wanted to run gear cables? If you have bar end shifters and run the cables under the bar tape they’ll need to be longer. Also where the cable exits the bar tape near the stem it is best to run the outers to the opposite cable boss and cross the inners over under the frame. You can use less outer cable and they don’t get in the way of steering. Also looks way neater.

Reminder not to browse LFGSS when I'm not yet awake.
Good shout on the cable routing.

Have a look at what Kee Systems have to offer. They probably do all of the bits that you need.
They'll also cut the poles to whatever lengths you want them. -
• #100573
Will do. It looks like they're more big projects, can't hurt to ask though.

Specialized Sirrus X look good but it's 2020 price.
Bike don't need to be "ladies" fit too, as long they're comfortable on it.
Sonder have one
