  • Well, choose which track hubs you favour in terms of quality, workmanship, aesthetics durability etc. need to make a desicion as part of my new build :D
If you can, justify your choice.

    churz

  • Got to be the on-one 36h in silver. Nothing else will do.

  • No Dura Ace?
    No Chris King?
    No (spit!) Campag?
    No Goldtec?
    No Profile?
    No Suzue?
    No Zipp?
    No Mavic?

    Epic Poll fail.

  • dude if your going to spend that much on hubs they aren't going to fail you, you're the one whose going to be buying and riding them, which one do YOU like? which one do YOU want?
figure that out and then go buy them, and ride them...

  • no LeVeL?
    no Gods Cogs?
me and my novel cog attaching device hubs are offended.

  • He said "high end" not "hipster enema", eyebrows.

  • If a cheap System EX/SJS/Formula/Condor/etc. hubs does the job perfectly, just go for the one you can afford.

  • What you going to do with your new build? Tricks or an hour record?

  • No Miche, the rest is fine.. Those formula's are pretty solid (and rather cheap!).

Check out those Mack hubs from Poland!

  • They will all go round and round very well. Would have to be Royce in my book though. Quality materials, workamnship, and finishing. Royce are the sort of company you can phone up and ask for recommendations too.

  • Dura-Ace.

  • Jumping down stair cases and the like on a fixed gear?

    Profile or Goldtec.

    Going fast?

Royce or Philip Woods I would say.

  • For sheer choice of colours and options I'd say Mack hubs they are a bit of pain in the bumhole though to get on and off, so for riding around the street where you get punctures I'd say these are a waste of your time.

  • Why's that Dov?

  • Dov I thought you called your Mrs to come and pick you up if you got a puncture, or got in a cab- how can that be hard?

  • ^useless answer^

  • My faves:

Dura-Ace / Campag Record for summer

Goldtec / Level for winter [I run a 45 mm chainline on my winter ride]

None of which feature in this poll sadly...

  • What about Campagnolo? Am I asking a stupid question? Should I UTFS?

  • Dov in what way are they a pain to fit?

  • hello OP DA's there can be no poll without DA's

  • Dov in what way are they a pain to fit?

The axle floats so if you over tighten one side that can become stuck and you need to torque the other side to the same level then un-tighten at same time and torque level. It's difficult to explain without much pointing and turning of 8mm allen keys.

  • Ok yeah I think I get it. Ta.

  • Don't Goldtecs and Phils also both have a floating axle with threadless cone nuts as well though?
I've never seen this as an issue as long as you jump from side to side and try and tighten each axle stud evenly, or am I being a retard here?

  • Maybe the grippy scoring on phils locknut helps stop this happening when you get to nearly-tight?

  • The grippiness on the Macks is far from grippy enough.

They're fantastic hubs, just not for the road.
