  • "Traveller". That's what I need - the third part.
    Off to Amazon.

  • Great Divide touring bike;

  • Do they use all that and carry a backpack?

    I presume in some areas they have to camp, but does the route put them in wilderness areas for multiple days in a row?

  • these look pretty good, $44, any one have one already ? quality ?

  • ojaw......serious ? ral ref is poss ! oil cloth ? right ? with toe strap ? leather trim ?

  • So I'm thinking of heading off on my bike for a week or so on a little trip. Nice and lightweight, just the rack top bag with supplies would I be better off with a lightweight tent or Bivi?

    Yeah, oil cloth; looks and smells like old camping tents - lots of chemical goodness.
    Leather trim would be difficult with my machine, no can do that.
    You would supply your own strap.
    Shipping from Canada to ? probably $10-15.
    All in, call it $35.

    "ral ref is poss !" < ?

  • Found a couple of leather straps with buckles from an old Swiss pack, could include one of those if you can deal with the added seconds of latching time.

  • That being said, Carradice makes one for about the same price, and better finished than I could manage without a lot of practise.

    I'm thinking tent to be honest, after all day riding, I'd like to go to sleep in comfort, but that's me.

    That's what I was thinking chap but then I've got the extra weight of a tent to deal with unless I can get myself a tiny lightweight one - which doesn't cost too much. Maybe I'm asking for too much lol.

    PM me.

  • Listen to you lot, deciding whether or not i should take a paperback. Fuck off. I have a copy of On The Road, which I picked off the shelf because it seemed apt, and a Guide to Flemish. Fuck Kindles, seriously.

  • Ooh that sound like a good book, let me download it for the Kindle.

  • Can you book play porn when you get bored of reading? I though so.

  • Ed, you truly are a twazzock.

  • In all seriousiness though, thank you for bringing me the attention of On The Road, which look like a good read insofar.

  • It's a classic, Ed. Stocked by every Oxfam.

  • Can I just say, not taking Ed's side over the Kindle argument but they are awesome;

    Also has anyone else seen this;

    http://kindlemap.net/

    It allows you to display google maps on your kindle - fucking awesome.
