Any suggestions for a cheapish summer only lightweight down bag/quilt? I've already got a really nice 3 season bag that's great for most purposes, but could do with something cheap and light/small for when the weather's definitely going to be good and I want to get out for a quick overnight bivvy. Alpkit Cloud Cover? Or the Naturehike version? Anything else similar?

Does it have to be down? The Alpkit Ultra80 is small and light

The Alpkit quilt is very poor imo. Ok in your house on a mild night but next to useless if you want to keep warm in a tent.
I went for a Cumulus quilt after the dissatisfaction of the cloud base. Was not disappointed.
Fool me once etc.

No, not specifically down come to think of it. That does seem pretty good size/weight. Though a bit over budget for something that won't be my main bag.

The Cumulus ones do looks really good but again slightly overkill for my needs.
Anyone got any suggestions for summer bags under £100/under 750g? Though actually small pack size more important than weight. -

It says that it's modular, what's it modular with? Couldn't figure it out from looking at the site. Is it some kind of double bag situation?

I use these, perfectly acceptable. https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/lightweight-down-winter-sleeping-bag-p14347.aspx/red/

Watch their video. It pairs with a specific sleep mat.

Can I have a synthetic - I'm allergic to down - and EU version of this post please? Ta. Doesn't have to be a quilt.

Seems cool, maybe a bit overengineered. I've seen a few false bottom bags from Rab on ebay, 150g ish fill weight, was kinda curious about them.

Whatever suits your budget and temp ratings from here, if anything:

Honestly don't really know much about synthetic bags because they're so inferior in every way for where I live. Sorry Lololololo.

Actually been using it this week cowboy camping and it's been idea. It's low double digits at night here and it's super.
I still might put a zip in but actually I don't think I need to as I doubt I'll sleep outside in temps warmer than they are now.
I haven't used the straps that connect it too the Matt, they're not needed and I'll cut them off when I get home to loose weight.

Nice, the straps are what I was thinking of, it would be a shame to only be able to use it with certain pads.

Speaking of false bottoms, I forgot cumulus now has some:
https://cumulus.equipment/eu_en/down-sleeping-bag-aerial-180.htmlI'm curious about the idea, kinda feel like it would be easy to get cold spots. I think it's easier to realise you've tossed and turned enough to get a gap with a quilt, but with a false bottom, it's fabric all over so might not be as obvious. Then again it's performance innit

Hence the straps to keep it in place. I don't move much so it's not really needed.
It's quote a specific piece. Will be ideal for summer nights and some fast packing trips in August, supplementing a down jacket on top of it if cold.

Na I reckon it'd be totally fine. All the insulation is coming from your pad anyway. That's the whole point of a quilt. So a false bottom bag is just eliminating the drafts of a quilt, without the additional (pointless) weight of down.

I'll check them out, they've popped in my searches before actually. Since the rain is always a possibility here perhaps synthetic is not that bad after all...

We basically did this during El Piri using a normal Cumulus sleeping bag shared between us on a 2P sleep pad. Unzip sleeping bag and drape it over both of us while on top of sleep pad. Double digit night temps so didn't need puffy jackets or anything. Worked quite well.

After months and months of thinking, I went for the more rationale approach buying a cheap naturehike quilt for a 2-weeks wandering in north-east Italy in August.
With my level of cycling, miles done this year etc etc I can't really justifiy spenny quilts.
Although, I hope I am not going to die cold up there lol -

Will post on the wanted section too but if anyone has a smallish one season bag (can be super worn Idm) they want to get rid of for cheap please let me know!
Stupidly agreed to go to a festival last minute and am very ill prepared
