Does anyone know if there's a way to join without a Benelux mobile number?
-
• #30
I think so, I haven't got a mobile number linked to my account.
I don't remember if you need one for the initial setup though...
-
• #31
I was struggling with this the other week
-
• #32
I think they've changed it so you need text confirmation. There are only 4 country code options and, as far as I can see, no way to get round. Came as a nasty surprise after months of eyeing up really nice, really cheap Concordes.

If it's for a single use to set up the account, I might be able to help. I can provide the activation code and you remove my number once the account has been created.

• #34
That sounds very cool and very nice. Should I pm?
-
• #35
Won’t it be to communicate with?
Can you let me know if it’s just needed to sign up please. -
• #36
It's just for sign-up, communication can go via mail or the built-in chat.
-
• #37
Ah ha! That’s good news one step closer to a large bike!!
-
• #38
Sorry mate, missed this notification.
Yes please do. :)

I had to give up a large Concorde due to this. Brexit....😡

Tbere's plenty of Dutch and Belgian people here on the forum, no? Maybe we should start a "middle man thread"? Post all the bikes you guys want from Marktplaats.nl and 2dehands.be and hope there's someone here from Belgium/The Netherlands who can collect and ship it. What you think?
-
• #41
I would be happy to help anyone get something shipped from markplaats as well!
-
• #42
Isn't it a nightmare to ship something from Europe to Britain right now?
-
• #43
For us here in Europe not really. You need to fill out the CN 23 form, yes, but that's about it. Prices for shipping have doubled, but that doesn't mean it's more work. I shipped two or three times to the UK post Brexit and can't say I had any trouble.
-
• #44
Carry on then!
-
• #45
Ofcourse, I don't know if it's as easy for the UK buyer (customs, VAT,...) but none of my buyers reported troubles. Maybe because I always mentioned it were 2nd hand bike parts, I don't know...

@WimVDD, which service would you use to send a bike back to U.K. from NL? I’m moving back to England next week and can’t take a bicycle on the Eurostar right now. Cheers
Edit : by which, I mean the cheapest most probably. I’m not too bothered if it takes a couple of weeks. I’ve had a look on various comparison sites and seems rather crazy, despite being able to cram it in as small box as I can.

Don't know from the NL as I'm Belgian. Here cheapest is BPost but for a complete bike also up to 80 €.
-
• #48
Complete bike is a nightmare from Luxembourg. Last time I had to use UPS as the local post office wouldn't take it... they'll take a frame, wheels but not the lot together.

I’m looking for a Standert in 60cm.
Any recommendations as to where I could try? Besides marktplaats and 2dehands -

They are a Berlin based brand, so ebay kleinanzeigen is probably a better bet than the durch/benelux classifieds.
@Heldring do you happen to be a member of this place? http://bikemarkt.mtb-news.de/article/569013-selle-san-marco-concor-light-ka
Really want to make an offer for it but haven't got round to making an account and think being from UK will be annoying for the seller
