  • people have talked about these on various threads....

I picked one up whilst over for the Eindhoven Polo and Rollapaluza and I fitted it today. It was easy to fit, is incredibly solid and well finished and I had no problem getting it on my old courier bike (wish I had one when I was working).....feels strong enough to sit a girlfriend on..

It's pretty heavy and it does affect handling, only slighly when unladen, I just bought 10k of shopping back on it and this completely changes the way your bike rides.

I'm gonna keep it on for a while, seems like it might be perfect for carrying bulky but not too heavy stuff around, just putting your bag on it to save your back or your clothes from sweat! or carrying heavier stuff every now and then if you're prepared to ride in a different style to normal...mounting kerbs is impossible when laden and it's slower to turn and balance is different.

Oh yes, less than half the price of a Cetma rack, I've seen both and the build quality of this appears equal, it's a proven design used by thousands of Dutch people for decades.

Maybe Jos could stock these if there was a demand.....

  • Yeah! Someone ought to be selling them. That guy David Hembrow (who, incidentally, makes amazing custom baskets in Holland) sells these for €50 + shipping. Weirdly, I was just looking at his site again when you posted this, Winston.

  • I paid less than that.....and was informed I'd paid too much by the local Dutch guys...I just got it from the nearest shop to the polo court....

  • Defo looks like there is some demand - some guys on here look like they have been diy-ing theirs: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread16557.html#post1001275

  • Maybe you should just get a load and flog em!

  • Think you can get the rack + black plastic crate to go on it for about €25 in Amsterdam, my brother lives there and was looking at them when i was visiting..... TBH that actually seemed quite a lot to me for what it was.....

A similar sized Cetma is $120 and it doesn't really have a back plate (Grille)

  • I like the one that bolts to your frame, seems like a good idea.

Have you seen Nhatt's?.....I like it, more expensive though but handling would be better.

  • Yep, that guy sells those too. No wobbly fork weight, but you have to be sure it'll clear your brake etc. I want one of those. And a coaster brake ;)

Nope never seen one in person only a pic from that website Skully posted.

Your load cannot be as high as your bars, brakes etc otherwise you won't be able to turn.....

  • I was there as well (Rotterdam guys), I'll ask one of the EHV guys if they know some webshop or whatsoever that ships to the uk. Might be easier.

  • re-opening this thread - any joy on above ?. - im looking to get one of these racks but dont really want to spend 50 euros plus 27 shipping...

  • How much?

  • Update, just fitted different bars that are still chopped, but significanly wider than my previous bars, massively improves handling with a load....obvious really.

  • I got that exact one for £25 a few weeks back online.

  • BC are testing the water about getting these in for £150

EDIT: Ah, they're just for ahead stems.
    Really nice though.

  • Quite elegant! Seems like a lot of load on a stem though, I'd want to have something supporting it from underneath to a brake hole or the forks.

  • ...
EDIT: Ah, they're just for BMX stems.

    Do you mean AHead stems?

  • Yep.

Seems that we a pea roast too.

    Hey all,
We've been thinking about bringing some of these rack/handlebar things over.

    http://copenhagenparts.com/

I want to pre-sell at least a few before I make a commitment to bringing them over, because as nice as they are (and they are NICE) they are £150 each. Anyone want one? List?

    Being discussed here:

  • Would never take off. Ed only uses quill stems.

  • from the other thread: A bunch of front Racks I spotted in Paris last weekend.

  • that price is a bit more like it.

most of the racks ive seen are far too expensive for all they are.

the velo orange one is a bit swish though.
