Apple Better impress tomorrow after MS just put this out:
Screen looks great, but the base and stand are really ugly.

Don't think a touch screen makes a lot of sense for sketch
For illustrators though, that's awesome. Can't really see that puck thing being much more than a gimmick though. Will it actually be quicker to pull that close than to access a keyboard shortcut or a menu? Or maybe a 3-finger press instead?

I know it doesn't but its half price.

I think the puck thing makes a lot of sense for more 'analog' controls - or really anything with more than two possible options to pick from.
If it's implemented well it could do some really cool stuff with art/music creation.

Aye, thats the one thing currently that prevents me from switching... although saying that, the top end Surface products are the price of Macs.

Airpods have been indefinitely delayed...

That puck thing reminds me of the Reactable
which has been out for years but not really much more than a music performance device/expensive toy. Would be interesting to see if this thing gets any more traction. But good on MS for moving into the 'creative' sphere Apple assumes it has sewn up. Especially the 20˚ tilt thing.

Anyone got recommendations on reputable place (other than Apple Store) to get MacBook Air battery replaced? Battery life is seemingly a blink of an eye now

Delays on EarPods. Wonder if (after the Surface Studio) there'll be any last minute panics - maybe an announcement of some future tech that hasn't yet been developed that Tim Cook just sketched a silhouette of and added it to the powerpoint without telling anyone:
After lukewarm MBP announcement and nothing else of note...
Tim Cook (TC): "But that's not all. The real reason we invited you here today is because we've been working on something behind the scenes for a while now. Something that is going to change everything. I'm so proud today to tell you about the iSwoggle."
Slide change shows Tom Cruise in Minority report.
Press to TC: "But that's just Tom Cruise in Minority report."
TC: "What you're seeing here is the future of software/hardware interfacing. The next evolutionary step. Humans becoming hardware. And software becoming more intelligent enough to match them."
Slide change to show JC Denton from Deus Ex.
Press texts on phone: "He's gone batshit. I'll file in 20. This is big. Make space on landing page. You might even need a microsite."
TC: (continues) "...we'll be doing a dedicated reveal very soon. But for now I just want to leave you with the future of Apple."

Busy day at work today?

I would just pay Apple or an Apple retailer to install a new battery. Not worth the risk of non genuine parts and no warranty.

Don't get it, what is it?

I trust the Bookyard for quality of parts and so on, but haven't ever sent away for a repair.

Anyone watching? TC chatting about 25th anniversary of mac notebooks at the mo so suspect new one about to drop. Can't help but think it'll be an anticlimax.

That she blows. Really awkward launch video and all it seems to include is a little visual top bar thing.
-
• #9974
But of course "it's so exciting" and has a "whole new design" etc blah.
iSwoggle coming soon.

Looks VERY flat and thin. Kind of like the Razer Blade.
14.9mm thin for the 13" and 15.5mm for the 15".
the day they release sketch on windows etc.
