  • Thanks so much for early-adopting this predictably-buggy update so the rest of us can watch, eat popcorn, laugh and update in about six weeks.

Meanwhile, I wrote a hardware review.

  • It's working now...

  • Gah!
Upgraded to Yosemite yesterday. Safari acting very weird, especially with this site. Keeps telling me that Safari 8 is not supported by this website, and then letting me in perfectly when I restart the laptop.

  • Safari is a big pile of shit tho'... I use Chrome, also shit... Just not as shit...

  • You mean easily hackable, shit Safari? Chrome, Firefox or GTFO.... I don't even use safari on my phone.

  • It certainly has its flaws, but if you have a gmail account/android phone, it's handy.

  • Yeah, that's why I'm running it... Two eco-systems beating the crap out of each other...

What's even more fun is trying to get your Mac to talk to a Samsung Smart TV... Oh, the lozzles...

    Stupid sexy tech wars...

  • I use Plex for that... or I did until I got bored of it and bought an Apple TV.

  • Ha! Plex...

Plex hasn't worked for me for about two months, fucking useless... Just as I had it running sweetly too... I have to use Samsung Link now, which is a load of shite... The only thing I use the Apple TV for is streaming the footie onto my TV, other than that it's of very little use as I can't link it to my non iTunes film library...

  • Yosemite all working swimmingly here with a Bootcamped MBP.

    Photoshop still works, too.

  • @well_is_it just the person I wanted to hear that from actually... I believe we have the exact same requirements mac function wise...

  • iMac has shit the bed, turn it on and OS (mavericks) doesn't load, just a flashing file symbol with a '?'.

No Apple store will look at it around here, any recommendations for a repair shop in the darkest of South London?

  • Your HD has bombed or at the very least needs a clean install. Or you could be lucky and startup in safe mode and it'll all be sweet.

Do you have an external drive with a bootable system on it? Or a backup drive?

  • Don't think I have a back up, the iMac would periodically do a back up but I guess that's no good if the HD dies. I have an external hd but not with the important bits on, just photos and shit.

I'm not very good with computers so looking for trusted repair people. Ta

  • Projector FTW.

Anyone interested in my hackintosh? Basically a Mac Mini (or the Intel version) running OSX. After £100

  • Ohhhhhh any more specs please? I might be!

  • Why wasn't my new imac shipped with yosemite? It wasn't completely OTP you'd think they'd all get it done at once.

  • Stop moaning

  • I like how Yosemite looks like OS 9.

  • OS9 was magic, I didn't go to OSX for such a long time...

  • Loved os9. I think that whole style was perfected in that os. Perfect balance between rich and out of the way

  • If you use "increase contrast" under accessability then it looks even more like it.

  • I resisted OS X for a good while too, I felt it looked too childish and cartoony with the overly rendered icons, ironic how people are saying 10.10 looks childish...

  • People hate change. Except fanboys maybe.
