One of the options to buy here:
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing+MacBook+Pro+13-Inch+Unibody+Mid+2009+Dual+Hard+Drive/8518/1Hybrid technology from Seagate combines SSD and traditional hard drive technology to provide SSD speeds from an affordable high capacity hard drive. Adaptive Memory technology keeps the files and file types you access the most ready and available for instant transfer from SSD.

Apple now supports it natively and you will have to enable it

From the look of it it looks like an in between option:

Been reading more about the MBA wifi issue, I am now quite concerned as there does not seem to be a fix, and Apple are ignoring it.

Why does the music stop playing on ios7 when you go into safari? It only seems to happen with safari, no other apps. Has it always done that? And is there any way I can stop it doing that?
-

Don't worry, if you press play from the bottom menu when already in safari it seems to keep playing.

Hm. Interesting. I think I will stick with a SSD as my main concern is having a laptop that boots faster and launches applications quicker.

Now the new owner of a Mac Book Air, and so far it's been nothing but frustrating.
According to my iPhone the MBA "is not a supported device" when trying to connect via Bluetooth.
I am far from impressed so far.

from here:
I solved the problem by deleting both bluetooth preference files and rebooting. I was then able to pair my bluetooth mice. I have no idea whether this will work, but it's easy to try. There's one preference file in Home Folder/Library/Preferences. There's another one in BootVolume/Library/Preferences.

Erm I am a Luddite, how do I download this update?
Through iTunes. You might have to update iTunes itself first
Or without a computer... on phone, go into settings -> general -> software update

So iOS 7 is a bit slow on the 4s. But not laggy; more like walking behind someone super slow and you get impatient but then think hey maybe I should just relax a bit.
I like the calendar.

Haha, yeah.
Actually, I'm oscillating between "ahh.. I should take a deap breath" and "hurry the fuck up, jesus christ" at least a dozen times per day now.
I mean, waking this thing from sleep via the power button is now like waking up someone who got shitfaced the night before. -

Are there any alternatives to Microsoft Excel which allow you to open, edit, and save a spreadsheet on a Mac, then reopen the same file in Excel on a PC with no off formatting/other weirdness?
i.e. a colleague emails you an .xlsx file which they have created in Windows, you open it, add you part, email it back and all is good?

• #4793

17" laptop! I wouldn't. You'll regret it. Those fuckers are huge.

I have a 17" Samsung. It was great for work, but awkward in bed.
Not that heavy at all - roughly the same as Macbook unibody. -

The email for my Apple ID is now defunct - I've heard some nightmare stories about changing this and was planning on going into a store to sort it.
Has anyone had to do this in the past?
Whats a hybrid drive?
