just turn up I reckon* You can't buy the computer elsewhere so no need for them to check paperwork. The serial number will give them time of purchase etc

Apple guarantee the computer regardless of who owns it (or has bought it second hand, etc). The history of the machine will be on their database, including the purchase date (1 year warranty as standard).
The only (slight) complication is transferring extended Apple Care from owner to owner, everything else is simples.
I used to buy machines on eBay that I knew were in an extended recall programs, I'd then take them to Apple to be given a brand new machine (sneaky).
