You used to be able to get cs2 from adobe for free when they moved to cs4

Adobe suite cracks are widely available; there are Reddit guides. I haven't had the need to use cracked software for ages as my work provides whatever licenses I need, but it's all out there.

I remember back in the day having to download cracked copies of Final Cut and photoshop and illustrator from my designer friends.
Thought that was a thing of the past.
Colour me surprised you can still do it. -

I also assumed the days of cracked Adobe anything were long gone with the world of Creative Cloud.

In this world of commodity infostealer malware I would advise running such software on a machine that you don’t use for internet banking, internet shopping or things like email which you have to login to.

Cracked software, or adobe cc?
Considering how shit CC is becoming it wouldn't surprise me if it's a security mess as well
-
• #21658
Cracked software - whilst the cracker may be doing so for purely altruistic motives it's such an open goal for threat actors, who can crack the protection and bundle in their infostealer of choice and have a queue of people who wish to install it, and will ignore security warnings that might crop up.

After a couple setup bugs my new Mini is up and running. Insanely fast for the price. Even more so with education discount. Might sell my M1 Max Studio and get the same Mini for work while the resale value is still around £1k

Which one did you get?

The base model for £500. Going to expand it wit the base Amey linked to up thread at some point
-
• #21663
Apparently Satechi is also making one due to be released soon.
This is also a good option to expand storage: https://www.owc.com/solutions/express-1m2
Reddit users have been running speed tests on that OWC enclosure:

• #21664
Fuckin hell that's rapid but how much is the drives.
-
• #21665
any nvme, crucial has one for £89 for 2TB, OWC comes in as enclosure only for £100-ish
-
• #21666
I thought it might have been special drives to get they speeds. Just bought another crucialX9 4TB and it was £210 for the 1050!

Interesting. Although it looks more likely to get yanked off my home desk by my two little terrors than the base plate style one

troglodyte alert - but to the topic of cs hacks. [and I'm sure there is a thread that answers this] I wouldn't have the foggiest on how to use any of them, the last I used was cs2 (licensed) I was happy to buy Final Cut express 14 years ago @£125 to have it.. id be interested to muck around on whatever cs is now but as said I wouldn't have the foggiest for using it, even from opening and file format or know if the muck around would last 2min or 2hours... so the idea of a subscription is a bit peloton - I have the funky new Mac but as a [image] designers tool (in the position of a wanna-be give it ago user) its definitely lacking in software - so is there anything interesting to top it up with ?

Not sure it’s anymore legit than a crack. Pretend you’re a student living in India..

I did something similar. It lasted a year but I got an email at some point saying that as my usage was all UK I would be charged a UK renewal price so I cancelled.

Affinity Photo 2 if you don’t want to pay for photoshop subscription.
-
• #21672
I'll have a look into that cheers - hoping it'll give me more impetus to turn the computer on

My M1 MBA has 16 gig of RAM and a 512 gig hard drive, which is more than half full despite having 2 terabytes of iCloud storage, so - I think I would want a minimum of 512 for the onboard. I’m leaning toward the mini pro as a somewhat future proof option.

I bought an iPad direct from Apple for my partner for her bday - got a £40 apple voucher as part of their Black Friday offer. Does anyone want it for £30?
Adobe have black friday offers on so pony up and don’t be a freetard.
