There doesn't seem to be an option to reorder them in the set, you can either add another mobile data icon somewhere else or another set of connectivity icons but with a fixed order.

I added a second one now so I can switch it on and off with a single tap instead of 2 when it's the smaller icon in the set.

And of course they haven't added location or background app shortcuts to that menu......so what's actually improved?
-
• #21455
That's not something they want you to turn off easily.
-
• #21456
Right. But they must know that a shortcut can be created, which is almost as quick, so why not just add it to the menu?

..any more feedback from the brave souls / early adopters regarding iOS 18 & Sequoia?
-
• #21460
No issues iOS18 at all (iPhone 14 Pro).

Fine so far on 15 Pro
-
• #21462
Fine here too. - 15 plus.
As mentioned above the new photos app is terrible, but you can customise it to get it fairly close to how it was.

Apart from the photo app, it’s fine.
I like the newer way the calls works now ot at like the way it looks as it functions basically the same

Thanks for the feedback guys 👍
Guess what I was most worried about is that it's apparently quite a major update, with the Apple Intelligence and all - was wondering whether it slows down the device or drains battery faster - yet if I understand correctly the AI is only for iPhone 15 Pro and above anyway (I use a 14 Pro at the moment)..
Yea the photos app redesign seems not to get much love - you can't really go back to have the whole screen be filled with the thumbnails of your photo library, yea? The bottom third of the screen now always displays albums, favourites etc. (although you can customize that)?

I’ve got my photo app just showing photos with hidden and recently deleted options below. It’s all I want as back up anything I want to save but not look at regularly to google photos.

I find myself wanting / needing to switch between windows of the Mail app oftentimes (basically switch between the window of the message I'm composing and the main app window) -
with other apps you can switch between windows of the same app via cmd + ` but when I try that in Mail (while in the composing-mail window) it does not switch back to the main app window, but instad indents the line of text where my cursor is at.Anybody can tell me how to solve this (so I can switch back and forth)?
Ta!

Moving from an iPad Air as my primary device back to a laptop, likely MB Air 3. I will need a quality burner for my cd collection of about 600. I plan to reburn these and so a fairly quick unit would be nice, plus one that can accommodate older/possibly scratched discs. I’ll be storing these on the computer, likely on the hated Apple Music because I don’t tech. There will also be external backups.
I understand the drawer or clamshell type is preferred over slotted, and 16x over 8x write speed?
Any favourites? -

After wearing out a few I got the OWC Mercury case, then you can get a bare drive. Read speed is probably more important if all you are doing is ripping CD’s but if you have any blu ray you want to read there’s a smaller list of drives that will work with the software you need to rip them.
If you use Apple Music to rip them you will probably get a percentage with audible problems because apple doesn’t error check the rip results. DbPoweramp is usually cited as the best ripper for mac and that’s been borne out in my experience ripping 1000’s of cd’s.
With the current state of tech I would probably just spend the money on a streaming subscription but a few years ago it still seemed worth doing.

What does a “bare drive” mean? The OWC is actually one of the units I was looking at.
Subscriptions are not interesting to me at this point.
Thanks! -

For this one it’s already in the box right? Plug and play?

Anyone had an issue connecting to hotel WiFi on MacBook? Working fine on both iPhones, iPad and wife’s MacBook but just my air which isn’t working. Says unsecured network but didn’t think that would stop it working?
