Yottamaster are meant to be ok for this sort of thing, don’t ask me which model though.

I’m swapping to a Nokia 800 Tough from my iPhone.
I was planning on just putting my simcard in the new phone, and leaving my iPhone as is, with the hope of still using it as a kind of mini tablet by tethering to the Nokia when I need it.Will this work, or will my iPhone not work without a sim card?

You need an m2 nvme enclosure, I usually use the ugreen ones, but you can find loads for under £20, just need to double check the pins to make sure your ssd will fit.

Perfect price point.

Your iphone will* [edit] might become an ipod so good for stuff you can do on wifi, take pics and listen to music stored on the phone.
The Nokia Tough is an utterly shit phone. It has a ridiculously long battery life but for anything else other than speaking on the phone, and just that, it is awful. How do I know this, I have had one for 2 years.
Great for receiving text message alerts, but not sending them. I wouldn't do anything more ambitious than receive calls on it. If this is your use case, best of luck, because I wouldn't buy it again.

Haha, not exactly a glowing review! I’m hoping to end my smartphone habit. As long as I can receive emails and texts I should be ok. I’d hoped that google maps would be usable, but it sounds like it won’t be.
Although fewer features and usability is a good thing. I’ll leave my iPhone at home and just take my Nokia to work so I’m contactable. We’ll see. -

much like the film from where your avatar originates, you are going full cold turkey a la Renton.
Unless you need the tough as you are full lumberjack working outside all day, I would opt for the Nok 6310. I would hope it would be more usable.

Do you mean the 6300, like this?

Cheers 'loins. I've now had a go with Handbrake and VLC but both produce copies which stutter no matter how much I adjust the frame rates etc. I'll give it another whizz later.

The easy option would be to play the DVD on your computer, make sure all other computer sounds are muted and then use Audacity to record the sound.
-
• #21340
Thanks but it's the whole visual and audio I need and it's to be used on a large stage so needs to be the best possible resolution. Someone else suggested using Quicktime to record the screen when I play it as a DVD but I fear that'll look a bit shit too.

That doesn't narrow it down. A1466 SSDs can be either SATA (2012) or PCIe based (later models). USB adapters for the latter are much more expensive.
Neither uses a standard form factor / connector, so a generic SSD enclosure won't work.

Video through USB C ports works by switching the computer's port to an "alt" mode (display port or HDMI). It's likely the port on the dock only supports normal USB data and isn't clever enough to switch the Mac to alt mode and tunnel the display data.
You might be able to plug the dongle into the back of the display to get ethernet at the same time as everything else.

Ah, I thought you just said audio for some reason. I've used the screen grab method (using OBS studio) and it's looked fine on a standard TV. Handbrake would be my go to for that though.
One alternative, depending on the popularity of the band, is to see if there are any hd streams on YouTube or torrents or similar.

Anyone after a base M2 Mac Mini. Bought one for a geek project, used it for a fortnight, then gave up, sat in the draw since. How’s £395 posted sound?

Oh bums.
I think I’ve got a
Serial number written down / in my laptops search history. -

Potentially interested for my parents. Will let you know.

If you just have a bare drive you can count the pins. SATA is 7+17, PCIe is 12+16

The dumb phone has arrived. It’s a nightmare - it’s perfect. Barely functional WhatsApp and texting. Email kinda works. Can’t get calendar to sync which is annoying, but survivable.
I am obviously typing this on my sim-less iPhone. Lol. Once Wi-Fi goes, the nokia brick is king.

Honestly sounds like a fuckin nightmare mate.

As I told you. I deleted WA immediately. Barely functional is about right.
Can’t get calendar to sync which is annoying, but survivable.
Hah
the nokia brick is king.
I'll be interested to see how you are in 2 months.
