Use focus modes.
Just set up a work one and a personal one.You can customise apps that are shown, notifications, backgrounds etc etc
Then either switch manually or set a working week. My phone automatically changes to work between 9 & 5 but after that, no notifications or badge icons for certain apps (and even specifically email accounts if you’re using mail) and a completely different look.

If so, yes

Cheers. Just trying to make it as parent friendly as possible.
Actually come to think of it, does Apple Podcasts come preinstalled?

What's the best way of recycling/getting rid of a 2011 iMac?
-
• #21062
Remove the hard drive (assuming you don't want anyone else to view what's on it) and take the remains to any branch of PC World/Currys.

Does it still work? If so, factory reset it and donate to a computer charity.

I’ve been having problems the last few days with the eBay app.
Nothing has changed in my phone but now I don’t get notifications and I’m missing messages and stuff I’ve been bidding on.
I’ve turned off the phone
Uninstalled the app
Turned notifications on and off
Signed out and signed back in and still I get nothing.
Could it maybe an issue at eBay’s end? -

What's the best way of recycling/getting rid of a 2011 iMac?
Why get rid? I bought one for £80, stuck an SSD in it, upped the RAM, installed OCLP Monterey and use it every day for work.

Eventually replacing my ipad air 4, my experiment with using an ipad for all home computing was ill advised (my own).
So, surfing, photos and music storage/play through. -

Then anything with an M-processor. A second hand M1 air will work great and last you years

Thanks, will look into that when the time comes.

Cna someone recommend a budget BT mouse for an m2 MBP.
Idk what is up with whoever orders stuff for my wife, but they clearly never look a what laptop she has, and have sent a m185 mouse which needs the dongle plugged in.
It must be cheap. Given the m185 looks to be £10 at the moment, I'm guessing sub-£20.
Cheers.

Is this of any use to anyone? I forgot I had it and revived it the other day, i used opencore legacy patcher and it has Monterey on it now. Intel i7, 128ssd, 8gb ram (free slot so you can add another 8gb), real ports and an optical drive! £50?

can someone explain to the difference between pcie 4.0/ pcie 3.0 and thunderbolt, and how usb - c fits into the equation, I'm looking to cobble together some external drives using ssd's and wanted to know whether my macbook pro (16.1, one of the last of the intel ones) will get the benefit of pcie 4.
this very much feels like a rabbit hole which will send me back to just paying the money for a samsung shield t7 or a sandisk extreme portable drive, but I'm looking to save some money where I can.
Thanks
Not in a way that’s app specific unfortunately. May just need to use willpower and build good habits back up but hoped you could set downtime for certain apps rather than all (unless I’ve missed this option).
