A lot of USB keyboards have a built in port for a mouse; certainly all the Apple wired keyboards do. If yours does, just get a basic passive USB extension cable.

Think it’s been a decade since apple made a wired keyboard!
I’m running a custom mech and Logitech mouse and headphones.

That must be a PITA for places like educational institutions

Not really, you can still buy them new:
https://mac4school.co.uk/index.php/product/mb110b-b/Or for £18 from CeX with a two year warranty for us non-educated types.
I refuse to use anything else.

I used a Mac mini as a tv box for a few years. Mainly due to needing to use a vpn or smart dns to access region restricted content while overseas.

I should add, I used a cheap 40ish” 4k tv as the monitor

Never even thought of that. Bet a few go missing.

I really hoped you’d be a custom mechanical guy. Feel let down.

Not sure if too late, but I would recommend just creating a new account in the region you need. I did this for us in Spain just for bank apps, Just Eat and streaming services.
Easy if you just download free stuff so don’t need payment deets and you only ever need to sign out/in in the App Store, not your whole phone.

Why Just Eat need an app for Spain that is separate I will never know. But I can’t live without my take out tacos.

I want the Apple experience to feel as real as possible!

Also I've never tried a mechanical keyboard and there's too much choice.

Mx Mechanical Mini / full size are great for someone looking for a better typing experience.
Run rings around the Apple keyboards.

We need drinks soon and I’ll show you all 1.5kg of my mechanical keyboard (in space grey).

The smart bit of cheap smart TVs tend to be a bit shit.
There are lots of cheap dongles that are decent though.

All of their Bluetooth keyboards with charging ports also work as regular USB keyboards if plugged in with a cable.

Here is a wierd one:
MacBook Pro 9.1 running Catalina 10.15.7 when I go to the app store to download stuff says can't be installed on Mac hd as version 12.3 or later is required.Any idea what is going on?

Need Mini Key board and mouse, I use a 2021 macbook air, and am about to do quite a lot more typing (mainly word docs, no gaming or anything like that) ) for a few months, so am looking at getting a mechanical, or at least mechanical feeling/sounding set up. Had a google for a couple of brands mentioned here, but still a bit confused, so if someone can tell me 1) get this and 2) from here, then I will do so with thanks. Also, do people use separate wrist rests, to move around? On my Air I can't find a very comfy position for long stints.

As above, mx mechanical mini is great as an entry mechanical keyboard and has completely replaced my more expensive ones for day to day stuff.
Compact and lasts ages on a charge.

Can anyone recommend a good place in London (SE ideal) to get my early 2015 MBP serviced/maybe look into having some upgrades done? After the run of replies I got in this thread a month ago I feel like I would like to keep it running rather than replace it, but it's slow and chuggy and loud and can't do much quickly at the moment.

MR systems but they are in the city and Angel.

Faster/bigger SSD But a 2015 may not have upgradable memory.
Maybe a brush to remove the acumulated dirt.
Would replacement thermal paste be an idea?
I have a 32" Ultrafine monitor, and an Apple TV + HomePods, which has worked out really well over the last few years. It does all everything I need it to do.
