New MacBook Pro on the way... 16inch i9, 32GB/1TB. Genuinely surprised IT signed it off.
I’ve been using a 2017 13 inch with 8GB of ram for after effects and large format gubbins for all of lockdown. This would have been awesome in March.

Sharpen it.

The tip of the "pencil" gets loose sometimes, has a thread on it, try the good ol' righty-tighty to tighten. If it doesn't work, a spare tip is supplied in the box (if you still have it), try replacing it (ours is going strong with the original tip for 2+ years, loosened just once...)

I’ve got an Apple TV gen 3 box and Virgin Media, hub 3 I think, it used to work fine.
Now if I turn it on the Apple TV box it makes the virgin media router disconnect from the internet and stop working. How is this possible? I guess there’s something I need to change on the router settings, but google search is not helping since Apple tv is now a different thing. -

That’s a “quick, burn down your house, it’s clearly haunted” problem.

Jelly. Let me know how you find it BRO.

How can this even be a thing. Moved the Apple box behind the tv and it works fine. Been sat near the router for 5 years must have been slowly magnetising !

iPhone question. Why am I receiving emails from senders on my blocked list? I would have thought they should go direct to junk mail and not my inbox. Google doesn’t seem to have the answer.

Hmm, what is likely to be causing this?

Hmm, nothing shows up in that screenshot, but looking at the base of the screen there's a distortion - a black line though the lower third of each icon.
Which suggests that the screen might be borked. Bugger.

When do the new chip design Macs come out again?
-
• #16071
yeah it's the ribbon cable between base and screen, open and close your macbook enough times and it starts to break.

Assuming it is, Apple eventually acknowledged it as a hardware fault and will repair it;
