Not sure I'm being incredibly daft but I can't seem to locate Apple TV app on my iMac. It's meant to come pre-installed but I can't even find it to download.

Is there such an app?

Double check you're on Catalina (macOS 10.15). It should be in the Applications folder.

Do people keep their old computer/monitor boxes?
I’ve kept mine, but need the space back, who knew children needed so much shit, anyone have any horror stories about transporting computer equipment without the original box? Or am I being overly sensitive? -
• #15485
If you ever need to ship a monitor or imac I'd say keep the box or buy one off ebay, there's usually some for sale. I once shipped a cinema display in a different box and it broke on the way with the courier taking zero blame

Not really selling anything, more wondering about moving between places. We might be buying end of the year, beginning of next (Coronavirus dependent) and would be used then, otherwise they just sit in cupboards, against walls taking up space.

If you're carrying the stuff I wouldn't worry about it, but if you get a company in to do it perhaps keep them. Or sell them now and if you need a box just buy one?

Throw them away! Since you unpacked it from the box have you needed it? No. But the space is a premium so just bin it and be glad of less clutter in your life.
Spark some joy dude

Obvious lol at the thought of less clutter in your life being achieved and not immediately reversed by toddler paraphernalia but this is ultimately correct.
I moved house wrapping monitors in blankets and strapping them behind seatbelts.

Thanks for that forgot you can buy anything on eBay.
@Tenderloin thanks furlough is granting me time to sort through shit. I’m a 2nd generation just in case hoarder so being told it’s okay to let stuff go is good for me.@cyoa yeah I know, I’m making space so it can be filled with more toddler/partner stuff, but the getting rid of stuff does feel good for the hours/days/week when you can see the floor again, before it’s covered with more shit.

I only have a work phone (11 pro) but would buy the hell out of the new SE if i was paying for a device

Throw them away!
Try and sell them surely.

Going rate is about £30 a box. I could do. I have the time, it’s probably about how much the postage would be.
If I did sell them, the issue would be where would I store them as I wait for someone to buy them. As I’m all about making space RIGHT NOW! -
• #15495
Buy a bigger box to put all your boxes in until you sell them?
-
• #15496
This guy boxes
-
• #15497
Keep shipping it to yourself until someone buys it
-
• #15498
Gonna take photos of the boxes and put up on eBay tomorrow and see what happens. Personally feel the postage will be more than I get for the boxes themselves but we’ll see.

Got to say there is something supremely satisfying in throwing stuff out, moving other stuff around and creating enough space to see your floor again.
The ‘ahhhh!!!’ moment of feeling you’ve gained space and what was once cramped and crowded feels bigger just through getting stuff off the floor is incredible. -

Get some cats, they do appreciate boxes.
Hah! That to-do item was completed more easily than expected :)
Reminds me we've got a 2013 that can be souped up with more memory and an SSD.
