I thought that but I can’t even install a free app.

Yay! I need to get my 6S done but wasn't aware there was that much of a wait.
Will hold-out until the weather warms up.

Cannot make a bootable USB with the Windows 10 (X64) ISO from a Macbook running MacOS Sierra (10.12.6). The version of Boot Camp Assistant included in Sierra does not let me choose the USB as a destination disk to burn the image... just the main HDD...
I have also tried using the terminal (like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhgjqbq_zYA
) and other programmes like Etcher (https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-create-a-usb-stick-on-macos#5) to produce a bootable USB with no luck whatsoever... UDOO board (that's why I need the Win10) keeps saying "No bootable device --insert boot disk and pres any key" over and overHas someone else encountered this problem? Any help would be truly appreciated!!! I rather not upgrade to High Sierra for now

You can use a normal windows instal usb. Do you have a windows machine?
-
• #12506
no, that's part of the problem. Just tried with a machine running on El Capitan without luck... But may borrow a neighbours tonight any tutorials you recommend @chrisbmx116?

Give unetbootin a try maybe
https://unetbootin.github.io/ -
• #12508
Does the tutorial format the drive for you? If it’s previously been a Mac usb drive it will probably have GUID partition map, which I believe won’t work as bootable in windows. You can change it to Master Boot Record in Disk Utility.
I may be talking out of my proverbial, of course.

Already tried FAT, EXFAT... It may explain why BootCamp with El Capitan also failed (see image) so might as well give it a try

Will try, shall I format FAT or ExFAT with Master Boot Record or GUID partition?
-
• #12511
I'd have thought Fat32 but I don't know how fussy macs are about that.

Tried unetbootin.github.io got closer, but didn't work in the end. I think I am gonna give in and borrow a Win machine to do the bloody USB from there... Thanks for the tips everyone! It was worth a try

Shill me some TB3 eGPU housings.
I have a MBP 2016 13" with i5/8GB, so only two thunderbolt ports. One port will be power, the other eGPU. Are there any housings that have a second tb3 port to daisy chain an SSD into it as well?
Which eGPU housings seem to be best performing?
Edit to add - leaning towards an Akitio node at the moment

I metaphorically pooped my pants earlier... Went to turn my MBP on and grey screen... Went into single user mode, repeated then tried again and still nothing... Ugh... Reset PRAM, nothing... Resetting SMC got me started so I figured I'd better get my shit backed up if this machine is about to fill its pants, haven't backed up since we moved into our new house in November... Hooked up to my hard drives through my Thunderbolt display and everything has slowed to a crawl, CPU on 100%... Wanna restart but afraid it won't come back to life again...
Fuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!

Preparing backup

Well done, I didn't and had to dig out the last drive... now got one for regular back ups and 2 for monthly (tbf one for this would be more than fine)

Oh hai. Egpu you say? I may be selling my Sonnet if you’re interested?
I’ve done a fair bit of research and had about 5 different set ups, feel free to ask any questions...

(Node pro for daisy chaining, or Node lite depending on GPU).

Has anyone used an Apple Watch to track calories expended during exercise?

• #12520
I'm in straya at the moment, so bit far for postage =S.
Ideally I'd like to store bootcamp externally to the egpu - looks like the HP Omen accelerator could fit the bill well. It has one TB3 port, but has space for an SSD as well. Only question is if the macbook will recognise the SSD at boot!

MBP seems to have come back to life with High Sierra installed... Let's see how we go...
-
• #12523
DId you succeed in backing it the fuck up?!?
Don’t want to hear any tales of Mac woe if you didn’t. -
• #12524
Yup, don't wanna tempt fate any further as this lump of metal turned six last week... Logic board and GPU got replaced just over two years ago tho'... Running on borrowed time? I may get an external GPU if I can find a cheap one...

• #12525
Will do! I tried windows on an external ssd for a bit.
Spend some money with their card
