  • Just seen this. Yes if you still have it mate?

  • Posted it out today... Sold on eBay for £475 about 20 mins after posting it.

    Sorry!

  • :'(

    no worries dude

My 6 plus is crawling. So if anyone else is upgrading from a seven plus let me know :)

  • Selling my iPhone 7 as well.

Had it for a year since launch. The second I've unboxed it, went straight into a protective case and tempered glass screen protector.

Just removed the case and the screen protector to check the condition and can say it's absolutely 10/10 without dents, scratches, chips (I take care of phones more than bicycles!).

Comes with everything what's in the box (earphones are still sealed I think), charging cable 100% working.

One really good thing - bought from John Lewis with a 2-year warranty, which means you'll have another almost a year warranty.

Never had any issue with it, all buttons work as they should and battery still lasts very long.

Will include Speck protective case, which is not in amazing condition itself and it's not prettiest either, but works very very well.

Considering the condition, I'd like £SOLD for it.

Based in Bethnal Green, but can meet up within reasonable distance.

    Thank you.

    P.

EDIT: Found new tempered glass protector which I’ll include aswell.

  • Might take that off ya... will PM today, Also Bethnal Green...

  • Why not a plus?! :(

    Good deal that

  • I know! I was excited that I might have someone to sell straight away, but then I noticed the plus...

  • Got a new 7 plus, 128GB black, not locked to a network with all the usual accessories and one of these cases
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01GIWG3D6

eBay seems around 550-600, so 525?

  • Hmmm lemme have a think dude, bit more than I wanted to spend (was thinking of used rather than BN)

  • Smashed my iphone screen, finally, so took it in to repair (apple care +). They're claiming it's water damaged. It may well be, but not properly, only from a steamy bathroom or sweaty fingers. That phone is only 3 weeks old, as it was a new replacement for one that was defective.

The phone works perfectly fine, any water damage is irrelevant.

    Aholes.

  • Ask to speak to the store manager if you haven't yet? I have no personal experience with Apple Care + but I have plenty of experience claiming under the consumer right law, they try to pretend it's my fault everytime. Also, I assume you know where the water damage indicators are on the iphones? If it's showing white then I don't think they have a lot to argue for, after all, it's their idea to have those little stickers hidden in the phones anyway.

  • Yeah, I'd definitely be arguing the toss with that one - the damage is I assume fairly local to the screen and that's what you're using applecare for. Speak to a manager and also check MSE site for info on this type of thing, so as to be armed with the right response

  • Thanks both. I didn't take it in, the partner did. So out of my hands re discussing it with the manager. Instead of £25 it was £75, they said they could not replace the screen as it was water damaged, wtf!

Anyway, perhaps I'll call the store. But having worked at apple, I know unless you kick up a fuss they don't give a toss.

  • Email Tim Cook? Or rather his office? They have seen me right before. If it's the Covent Garden store, ask to speak to Michael or Tarick, the lead geniuses (if it's the genius bar you are dealing with), they have both sorted out complicated issues for me in the past when the minions BS me.

  • Was Regent St. but thanks.

I don't doubt the sensors had been triggered, but in this case it wasn't dropped in a toilet, so seems a bit unjust. Especially given the phone was working fine! I'll call Regent St. tomorrow.

  • The charging port is dodgy on my iPhone 6s. If I flip the lighting cable 180degress it doesn’t charge and I have to wiggle the cable to get the phone to charge.

I bought it 12/10/16, so about a year and 1 month old. If I go into an Apple store are they likely to do anything? Or just tell me to buy a new one?

  • Probably the cable rather than the port. The cables are reversible so if one side works better than the other, it's probably not the port causing the issue.

    Probably.

  • Mine's like that too. Some cables works better than others, but it's certainly an issue with the phone as well

Have you checked for lint in the charging port? I was amazed at the amount I could get out with a tooth pick

  • This... dig around and get the pocket lint and other debris out of there.

  • No worries. Found someone interested at work, will let you know if they don't take it.

  • I’ll take it if the guy at work doesn’t

  • Has anyone experience of Apple watches, Mrs TGR is intent on buying me one for Christmas/birthday and I am looing for pointers as to which one would be best. My mobile provider is 3 so I THINK the 'cellular' one is not compatible - can anyone advise of this is correct? Also, how does the phone bit work on the watch?

    Thanks all

  • The LTE Apple Watch only works on EE in the UK, according to this:

    https://www.apple.com/uk/watch/cellular/

The non-LTE version allows you to answer calls as long as you have your phone with you or on the same wi-fi network as the watch.

Go and try one on before you buy to see which size looks best on your wrist.

  • Thanks. So the cellular watch won't work with my provider but I can answer calls if I have wifi and have my phone with me - am I being stupid, but why would I not use my phone to answer the call?

  • If you’re at home and your phone is in another room or out of reach you can answer it via the watch. If you’re out and your phone is in your pocket you can answer it on the watch. I find it quite handy on the bike, although the speaker is pretty quiet.
