THanks TK from reading that led me to this

"There was so much crime in New York back then that the white-haired man, Andrew Savulich, had his pick of numerous scenes of mayhem he could photograph. It was a more dangerous time to be a New Yorker, but a good time to be a spot news photographer"

Part of the series "The British Abroad" on Getty Images Reportage -
Magaluf, Majorca, Spain - Just after 8 in the morning, a security officer named George tries to wake a British man found slumped on the beach in Magaluf. George works a nine-hour shift, seven days a week, five months a year. He patrols the beach alone, armed with only a baton and five years’ experience. At around 06:30 each morning, George starts to clear the beach of people who have chosen to sleep there or who have collapsed on it.
Authorities in Magaluf, a popular vacation destination for young Britons, have recently tried to crack down on the binge-drinking tourist culture for which it’s known. According to the Guardian, “Drinking has now been banned on the street between 10pm and 8am, while fines between €750 (£550) and €3,000 will be issued to anyone caught urinating in public, flashing or swimming naked.” Reportage photographer Peter Dench captured all this and more in his project “The British Abroad,” a look at his young countrymen on vacation in Majorca, Croatia and Ibiza. See more of Peter’s work on the Reportage website.

Pluto nearly fills the frame in this image from the Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) aboard NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft, taken on July 13, 2015 when the spacecraft was 476,000 miles (768,000 kilometers) from the surface. This is the last and most detailed image sent to Earth before the spacecraft’s closest approach to Pluto on July 14. The color image has been combined with lower-resolution color information from the Ralph instrument that was acquired earlier on July 13. This view is dominated by the large, bright feature informally named the “heart,” which measures approximately 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) across. The heart borders darker equatorial terrains, and the mottled terrain to its east (right) are complex. However, even at this resolution, much of the heart’s interior appears remarkably featureless—possibly a sign of ongoing geologic processes.
Credits: NASA/APL/SwRIMore images will reach Earth in the coming hours.

DAZED presents a film by Tom Gould
Martyka ‘Skin Dog’ Brandt - gang member, champion racecar driver and devoted solo father.
'Skin' documents the life of Martyka Brandt, a member of New Zealand’s largest and most notorious gang, the Mighty Mongrel Mob. In a gang comprised predominantly of Maori and Pacific Islanders, Martyka was one of the few Pakeha members who joined the gang in the early '70s.
From being admitted to a mental institution at the age of 14, escaping and living a life of Mongrelism, Martyka’s life drastically changed as he began to raise his own family, later becoming a solo father raising 10 children through welfare and foster care.
Filmed in Napier, New Zealand

Our own immigration minister has suspended his re-election campaign - his office was directly responsible (though nothing gets decided in that government without S. Harper's say so) for inaction on that family's application to come to Canada. >>>fail thread>>>
Rest in peace.
