Fire so hot that it froze.
Hubbard cold storage warehouse fire 1958 Chicago (>?).
Burn't for 3 days before finally being left as a 3 walled shell, info seems to suggest the icing did as much damage to the 4th wall as the fire did!

I spent November in Utah, I'd be utterly amazed if the ground had suddenly changed colour from red/orange to purple. I don't doubt the flowers are real, I just don't believe the colours looked that way straight out the camera.

I'd say the magenta channel has been dropped back (mid-tones), and the photo was taken with a filter, but other than that I'd say spotter is right.

the whole shot is purple, flowers, sky, mountains... i think it's fairly tweaked. I also think it doesn't really matter, see no difference in pulling handles in Lightroom to putting a filter on your lens

I just don't get how the soil, sky and rock has gone grey/purple though. The rock and soil was very orange in November.

Because changing colours in a photo can create a false spectacle but the same can't really be said for B&W.

I have to admit I'm mainly being harsh because I think the photo isn't that great, especially considering how beautiful the area is - also that the photo would be completely disregarded if it wasn't totally purple.
