I like this thread but thought more of the pictures would be bike related

I like the fact that the pictures are generally not bike related.
I think of this forum as being a place where people who like bikes get together and share stuff they also like. -

They are brilliant, thanks for posting.
Charities often shy away from using the most moving imagery now – so not the emotionally bully the audience. But I think they still need to be seen.

I like this thread because there are so many amazing bits of photograph. A lot of variety - not judged if they're digital photography or film etc. but on whether the photo is good or not.

There are also two great retrospectives, the unmissable Vivian Maier: A Life Uncovered and Walter Joseph's photographs of London street markets in the 1940s.
Some interesting exhibitions. The Vivian Maier one in particular.
Going to have a look at it next Tuesday if anyone is around.I went to see John Maloof's talk (he's the guy who discovered Vivian's photos) at the National Portrait Gallery. It was fascinating. He was nothing like I expected (much younger, for one thing). He actually found the photos because he was into local history and was buying up old photos of Chicago to use in a book he was writing.
There's a book coming out from him soon and he gave us lots of fascinating tit bits from it on the condition we promised not to share them before the book comes out.

This. But also, this thread gives us a window onto the wider world and the beauty and diversity contained therein. Which good photography should do, of course. It's definitely one of my favourite threads on the forum.
