Sheep dip. Urban farming is bang on trend.
Or it might be a sunken Japanese bath. Made of concrete. Unfortunately the builder made it in the wrong place (if you believe our architect) so the steps need to come in and it needs to be made a bit smaller. He has agreed to do this so could be worse.
It needs to be smaller anyway as it's currently got a 550L capacity, and would take 40 minutes to fill even with the boiler for a five bedroom house we are putting in our one bed flat!

How many Japanese people do you need to bathe?
-

we might just need a toilet
I recommend one. They come in very handy.

Peeing in the bath?
That's one way to fill it with warm water. -

Zero. Up to two Westerners though. Remember we are all much fatter.

This is my original post about the bath:

Anyone got any clever ideas about how to tighten the loo seat bolts if they're not accessible? Am i really supposed to unplumb the entire bog just to tighten a nut?
-
• #9916
I'm interested in how they're not accessable? Toilet built in to a throne or something?
-
• #9917
You get what you pay for but we're not ploughing stacks of hard earned into a bathroom we're going to be leaving behind in a few years. We got from Victoria Plumb, Victorian Plumbing and some other shady little retailers. Good on you if you can afford Bathstore!

On other bogs I've looked at the bolt from the seat goes through the porcelain seat and protrudes from the underside. On our toilet the bolt goes into the top of the porcelain but then into an internal void. It appears you could get access from the rear but it's up against the wall leaving a 20mm gap, so no chance of getting a tool in there...
I was hoping it was some kind of magic bolt system that you can tighten from the top side.

Maybe you unclip/unbolt the seat then unscrew the brackets from captive nuts?
-
• #9920
Yeah you should be able to have access to them from underneath. Probably nothing you can do about it then.

Whats the fixing on the top? Quite often if you can pull it up so the bottom fixing presses against the pan you can get enough friction to slowly tighten it.

V cool. We have similar - the Omnitub - though not sunken. It is a great solution for smaller bathrooms; the feeling of being completely submerged up to the chin is rather nice, though quite honestly - apart from the kids - we rarely bathe, and I do miss being able to stretch out when I do...

Just threw £2k at some Swedes and other online appliance retailers.
