That's nuts. Even just the trunking is bad enough, corner pieces and t-sections etc are pennies.

Those skirting boards have been done by amateurs. They should be mitred at the corners.
I'd not pay them another penny and tell them to go away.

that fucking door. jesus. it's going to cost you to get their mistakes rectified. dont give the cunts another penny and hoof the fucker down to the small claims court to get back what you've already paid.

Fucking hell... Skirting and trunking corners should and can easily be mitred.
Please, please tell me they are Part P-certified for electrical work, or that you've had building control in to inspect and sign off the work (and the wall removal, if structural).

You really need to check this. Like really.
Don't let it get you down tho, hopefully minor fixes and it will look ace.

Had them over this afternoon, going to sort out all the issues I raised.
Nothing structural and the electrical certification is booked for Friday.
It's annoying I've had to chase them to get things finished to a standard I'm happy with but I am happy they will actually do it.

Yeah I'm sure the last thing @magpie wants to hear is that his newly renovated house is a shambles even if there are some untidy bits. There are plenty of bits of ours where we've had them go over it or redo it - including some skirting etc.
Living room floor, projector and kitchen (dodgy corner aside) look great.

The brown plaster above the sockets is just bonding plaster. You can't paint this; you need a finishing plaster skim over the top.
The door hinge is unbelievable, but you know that already. I'm not a tradesman, but I know how to miter skirting boards (and have done).

Back garden could be lovely. Why fence down the middle, was there a nasty divorce or something?
-
• #9399
Heh, they're shared gardens and some people decide to partition them, ours is split, makes it feel more 'ours' and there's no discussions about who mows, who jet washes the decking, who harvests the herbs etc

What are you supposed to do with the sockets in the tiles? Genuine question? They're not fully fixed in yet. Had to wait for the grout to dry first apparently.
You'd be nuts to have them back at all.
