Heh, I used to live on Shooters Hill rd, just opposite Kidbrooke Grove.
Interesting to see that Blackheath Standard has grown to include what we'd have called Kidbrooke.

or a long lunch on the day of completion when you're sitting in the removals van outside the property waiting for the call to release the keys and paying the removals men by the hour...

Yeah.
I think we are going to fondle it up real nice.
It needs proper central heating so that is the first thing.
Move the bathroom upstairs, make a massive kitchen in the reclaimed space downstairs (possibly with glass roof). Then get the pebble dash off if we have an change.

Bushwood is posher, larger houses overlooking the Wanstead flats. Lower Leytonstone is considered not so nice but I can see that changing with Crossrail and the flats shooting up at Stratford. Leyton's getting better too.

The extended party wall on the left hand side is interesting, you could make a really nice space at the back of the property.

This is what I was going to say as well, Bush Wood area is nice. There are some nice places on the other side of the A12 as well, I saw a place on Chelmsford Road which was nice and quiet but an easy walk from the tube/Red Lion etc.

Is it normal to receive all of the past deeds, mortgage and other documents for your house once you complete? We got a huge package from the solicitor yesterday which has documents, deeds etc dating back to 1880 when the house was first built.
They didn't do stuff by halves back then, half the stuff is beautiful.

congrats mate.
i thought your heart was set on the cottage? either way you don't mess around, that was quick going to find this place instead.
you'll have a great project on your hands there...looking forward to seeing the progress
It is apparently a rule in house buying that solicitors have to go on holiday the week that contracts are due.
