  • Negotiations aren't going well.

  • That'll be because of the higher offer i put in...

  • ^ jk

  • Fuck yeah, I'm all over that.

  • can't be arsed to find it really

  • I've found it too, do you have to pay us all off now?

  • Yay! First proper job in the new house was removing a cupboard built into an alcove. What looks like a simple job was actually a four hour nightmare that has resulted in about £500 of work to be done to make the wall/ceiling good. Turns out the cupboard was built in the 30s, (I found a farthing under the base dated from 1933) and it was attached to the wall with floorboard nails, which pulled out golfball size balls of plaster with them.

  • Hooray for "period features"

  • Ha. All we are trying to do is return the building to a decent state - plastering the walls and ripping out the shit DIY that has accumulated over the years, (my favourite being our 'conservatory' which appears to be held up by hanging basket brackets and duct tape).

  • haha
with a bit of common sense the internet is an amazing thing!

  • "period features". i'm having that - a truly great insult.

  • "I'm going to look at a house tonight with period features.
She hates it when I call her that."

  • Just had the plasterer round, I have a deal of preparation work to do and then - smooth, clean walls!

  • ^ filth.

  • Has anyone had experience in buying from a housing association? There is a place that is starting to fall apart on our street (house not flat) that could be amazing and has been empty for about a year now. Currently it seems to be letting slip and so I'd love to try and buy it from the housing authority but not sure if they'd direct sell or if it would have to go onto the market.

  • If you can afford to pay me £5,000/month for 25 years, yes.

  • No bike storage.

  • I've always wanted a levitating kitchen bin.

Shame my dream comes at such a price.

  • Stupid gabions on the stairs.

  • Offer accepted. They are moving abroad so as long as I can do it in ten weeks I'm in.

It means I might get it furnished, which will save a trip to Ikea.

  • Looks like my offer has fallen through 😭!!!!

In the words of the apprentice, The Search continues.

  • I'd tell what mine was but it less than a lock up garage in the South East.

  • @Mr_Sworld, you've gotta post the link! Them be the rules!

    Congratulations buy the way!
