Sorry, looks like a stressful situation to be in. Not an expert, but could you get your house insurance to talk to them or their insurance? Might do the trick

I'm going to suggest they pay for it themselves and then failing that claim against their insurance.

My main worry is that they got a plumber in and the only damp they found was in the washiing machine which is only a year old. I'm almost certain that it's the pipes rather than the machine but they would not let the plumber cut the back of the cupboards out to check the pipe work...

Your neighbours are quite nice aren't they? Which actually makes it more awkward in a way if they're being annoying about it.

Yes, they've been very reasonable so far. I'm more inclined to be reasonable in return as they're a pretty senior NHS nurse, which is pretty stressful by the sounds of it.

They've just agreed to have our plumber to look at it; he's excellent, and more importantly, very annoyed (on our behalf) the leak ruined the new plaster work in the house he spent about a month totally replumbing. So I think he'll be motivated to get it sorted and then we it dry and repaired.

I'm just hoping we don't have have an unsightly patch up job on an otherwise pristine stretch of wall.

So far the floor seems uneffected but I'm crossing finger and toes it stays that way as it pretty much pristine after being under carpets for 50 years

We have the same. We ripped up the cat piss smelling carpets when we moved into our current house and were pleasantly surprised to find it was laid in every downstairs room apart from the kitchen.

From the recommendation of a poster on here we got these guys https://www.borkwoodandco.com/ in to do some fitted wardrobes. The walls and floor are very wonky so anything other than custom would have looked a bit off (we have an Ikea wardrobe in a similar alcove in another room and it's slumped over against one of the walls).

Still need to choose some handles but very happy with them and added a lot of storage space.

Do you mind sharing the cost?

I started to DIY one last year, but have lost steam and interest in it, and it now sits staring at me as a failure in our bedroom!

Fittingly are delivering ours on 17th November. Annoyingly we'll be away, but our lodger will be here and they did say the driver would take them to the first floor, so going to leave a tip.

About £4k painted. Would have been ~ £500 cheaper without the drawers. That seems to be about the going rate.

Seller just agreed 10% off prior accepted (April) offer , 6 months of his ineptness resulted in mortgage expiring , so the 10% should cushion the blow ( for me ) of an increased interest rate

You and me both. I will be updating for sure, seeing as it was this place that put me on to them (albeit without a recommendation from the poster). Finger crossed but it has been a really good company to deal with so far. And reviews/instagram posts say they replace stuff damaged in transit etc. Only concern is my ability to scribe the trim pieces.

Anyone had an air source heat pump installed and would be willing to talk about it for a website I work with? ( @Sam_w maybe?) Thanks!

Can someone explain the rules around insulation and electrics. There's a perfect square patch of mould on my bathroom ceiling. Went up into the loft to figure out what's going on and here's what I see.
