  • I do enjoy the (mostly) zen of tiling. Are you finishing at that height?

  • Under 4’ actually roughly 3’.

  • You can even see where the glory holes have been drilled

  • Nah, all the way up. I’m not tiling it. Got a pro in.

  • You could make a formal complaint and say your next step is to get in touch with the legal ombudsperson. That might wake them up a bit.

  • Yeah that's basically what I did this morning although didn't go as far as mentioning the ombudsperson. Funnily enough, I got an email from my solicitor (without all the partners on copy, mind) a couple of hours later. Have responded with more questions - we'll see how long it takes for a response this time.

  • Thanks but I'm the other side of London to you so will pass.

Looks like some places online send out sample cards though so will start getting a variety of those

  • how could you make more of this kitchen diner space? the kitchen feels pokey and enclosed. but without the bottom wall there wouldnt be enough counter/storage

cant remove the wall with the lounge area or move any windows

  • Shallower cupboards on the south wall and open up the doorway more?

  • Keep the counters but get rid of tbe wall from counter up?

  • Lord Finchley tried to mend the Electric Light
Himself. It struck him dead: And serve him right!
It is the business of the wealthy man
To give employment to the artisan.

  • Looks like it might work on closer inspection. Are you still alive?

  • Yes, still alive and it works. All earth's combined, all red combined but not going to the light, two black on the Neutral and one on the Live. It was how the old one was wired.

  • It's standard 3 plate but should have a sleeve on the switch line to show it's essentially line (live) not neutral. Almost never does on the red and black since they're almost always pre part-p.

  • There was some red tape on the outer insulation of the switch line, above the rose.

  • Now, loose plug socket back boxes. What do?

  • Aren’t you getting it all re-wired anyway?

  • Eventually, yes, but fixing some bits here and there so it's usable in the mean time. I'd like to not pull the back box out the wall unplugging the hoover.

  • Shout at them.

At them, and at the loose downlighter holes.

  • Cheers! Not miles away from Claybrook price wise. I like the punchy green, do I want a green bathroom or another pick one? Prob pink as I’ve kinda already ordered the taps (in black).

  • Anyone have reccomendations for a glazing company? It's a small job, just the glass for our front door and the panel above.

  • As tbc said, it’s a roof terrace without planning permission. I was told haringey council are now very reluctant to grant planning permission for roof terraces as they cause problems with people being overlooked. But if 10 years passes without a formal objection from the council you can get it made legal retrospectively.

The fact that they describe it as having a view of ally pally but don’t actually show that in the photos makes me thing the view is pretty poor/small.

Also middle lane is quite a busy street. Pre COVID the council were planning to close it to most vehicle traffic, but this was met by lots of protest as in the trial stage traffic was diverted down other narrower residential streets. Suspect that plan has now died, but if it were to come back to life then presumably property on middle lane would become more desirable.

  • 40mm dowel and route hole was a no go. Too difficult to get right. Tenon it is.
