  • Hague Orange tho?

  • V God

  • It's just one orange wall - every other wall is 'sell your flat, pronto' white. Or magnolia or whatever it is.

  • yeah paint your flats white, folks. it's a tough market out there and you'll be surprised how hard it can be to slide a rizzla between someone putting in an offer on your place or the 9 nine others they've seen that day.

  • Better still. Paint everything white, just as you're leaving the traumatic under 4s behind. AND THEN THROW ANOTHER CHILD IN TO THE MIX.

    My white kitchen.
    SOBS

  • As a 13 yr old, I made some kind of protest against my parents' divorce by painting my walls, alternately, lime green and very vivid orange. Then I covered them with tear-outs from the 3 Maxim magazines I owned.
I remember doing a lot of wanking, playing Civ 2 and listening to Travis.

  • Not a lot has changed tbf.

  • I hope you grew out of listening to Travis.

  • I can't even remember what colour my walls are. place looked ok when I moved in. Left as is.

  • Only painted place I moved out of to cover the mould

  • Nothing wrong with orange walls. The walls of my room in Chambers and my office at home are both bright orange. Positively tangerine at home.

  • Nothing wrong with orange walls?
What kind of animal are you?

  • Nothing wrong with orange wall

    Damn right

    Nothing wrong with orange walls

Unsure, if you mean in the same dwelling

  • I chucked a very nice metallic blue road bike against the orange wall and thought it looked great

no accounting for taste I guess

  • How things change...

Oh. oh hold on. (WFH tomo).

(oh rats you did that joker yourself).

  • Classic Gold Amber!

  • Any recommendations for plumbers in North London? I need a soil pipe/stack replacing and the quotes I've had so far range from a bit pricey to outrageous.

  • Has anyone done replumbing and wiring on a 3 bed house recently?

Just got a quote from a builder for a total renovation and he's quoting £12500 for complete rewiring and £16750 for the plumbing (including a new boiler), both prices without VAT.

    Seems quite high to me!

  • Yes, seems high.

What condition is the place in?

If you are planning to strip out carpets etc and refit / redecorate separately, it will obviously be easier and cheaper for the trades. Are the current kitchen and bathroom staying or going?

  • Place is pretty stripped back already - ground floor is down to concrete!
Kitchen and bathroom are being replaced.

  • Not exactly on topic. Where might I look to find information on how housing association (benefit?) is calculated?
The short question is does inheriting affect this calculation? If so how?

  • Just doing a 2 bed house now, paying £3300.

  • Had another stumps guy out today, lovely fella, looks like we need eleven replaced... He seems to be saying $500 per stump will do it, we're gonna go for the hot dipped galvanized steel stumps which will be an extra $50 per stump... That's fine, still cheaper than the last cowboy that quoted us $6000 for seven stumps...

In other news, there's a brand new crack in the wall supporting the front of the house, I think it's my fault it's there... I accidentally emptied a 10,000 litre water tank three months ago and it appears to have caused a little subsidence... Oops... Wonder if this could be an insurance job, might need some underpinning...
