I think Viaduct did ours.
When we bought ours, String wasn't discounted anywhere, so the only differentiator the suppliers could manage was free install. Which was well worth it, because it's a PITA.

ach, we have decorators coming tomorrow who have agreed to install the string stuff we bought ourselves.
Are they gna fuck it 😂

I'd hope they would be OK, but might be annoyed with the faff.
+1 to Vitsoe shelving with the paraphernalia they give you to help put it up perfectly.

Wow, what kind of size windows? That’s not far off (in fact probably less after extras) than we were quoted for refurbs of existing sashes! Shame to lose the original glass mind.
-
• #25106
Yeah if you can refurb your current windows would be a shame to throw away the history tbh, if they are original

new windows aren't always that great either. we had some new ones put in, then some more. the dude that put the second ones in laughed at how loose and poor fitting the first ones were, but guess what? his firm fitting windows are now a pita - they jam, they are a fucker to paint, etc.
my stories are the coolest, siblings...

Thank you; that's ace info. Will definitely look into that though I'd be a bit anxious about the measuring - though I guess we could employ a fitter in advance and make that their problem.

We’ve just bought one from Anglian, who probably weren’t the cheapest around, but at least I know if they fuck it up then there’s a massive customer service dept I can shout at.
We got quoted an eye-watering amount for one of the premium doors (my wife hated every other design) plus the window above it, then ticked every single one of the Help Us Help You deal things - like them on social media, have before and after photos taken, have a sign up for a few weeks - which they knocked £3k off for.
The sales guy was awful, I won’t lie. He didn’t know their range well enough, and was reliant on their tablet app brochure thing which he didn’t know how to use. I ranted at customer service about it and they knocked a few more quid off, but the surveyor was pretty good and made sure everything was ok with the order
It’s being installed on Thurs so I may be back here whinging about them/praising them

These are the windows, so I guess standard Victorian London 3-bed house size.

The ice cream parlour and tea rooms of my childhood holidays, in a particularly remote part of North Wales, is on the market...

Would absolutely love to have a garden that size but they're off their nut if they think it's 'worth' anything near that
-
• #25121
I think some people really value gardens. There’s a house for sale near us of nearly exactly the same design as ours, slightly quieter road, gross 90s ideal home expo interior, not much view but much bigger garden. Asking is nearly 60% more than we paid!

Or build the same house for circa 600k all in.

I’d say 600k is pretty fucken optimistic
That is amazing value
