I don't see why they can't print you a new one.
Illegal, apparently.

Just did this. Mu P60s are kept online as PDFs as are all my payslips. If I can print as many copies as as I want it can't be illegal. There must be a way of getting hold of a copy. Failing that evidence of payslips and tax code for the last financial year would provide the same info. Payroll/HR should be able to give you access to that surely?
Amazingly managed to locate all the shiz I needed and our application is now in. *fingers crossed.

Fair enough; I'm just surprised. As far as I knew, the P60 was just a record of stuff that had already happened.
If work can't print you one, then surely HMRC can provide one.

Not so illegal, in reality, it seems.

If you've lost your P60 your employer can issue you with a duplicate. Since 2010-11 your employer no longer needs to show on the P60 that it is a 'duplicate'.

Oh dear... HR strikes again...

What, hopeless resources get something wrong? surely not.
-

Well, either way I'm not getting one. Just a letter stating my salary. So that'll either be a problem or it won't. Solicitor says it should be OK.

Same for me. God only know's how I'd have kept hold of it otherwise.

I'd have kept mine safe in my filing cabinet if it had ever got to me. Grumble, grumble.

Filing cabinet? Mine sits on dropbox with other important stuff (bike fit docs, pictures of bike) other lists.

I was fucking stunned I managed to find the last three months bank statements to be honest. Total fluke. I just thought "I wonder if one might be.." and every place I looked I found one. One under a pile of junk mail by the toaster, one under dirty running kit in my bag and the last one with a load of old credit card bills in my desk drawer at work. I'm still reeling from the astounding unprobability of it. I have no recollection of either filing or disposing of any others and yet the only three I needed were the three I found first time of looking.
Sorry Sparky.

I had to have bank statements and payslips, one of which had to be an original.
Printed both off and said that's how my payslips come. they had no problem with it.

I wish they'd hurry up and tell me what's going on. We're officially out of contract on our rented flat in 6 days and I need to know whether or not it's worth arranging temporary accomodation or if we can just sofa surf for a few weeks. Gah.
-
• #2015
My flatmate handed her notice in this week, so I'm tempted to do the same (6 weeks). But I don't want to end up in the same situation as you. Sounds scary. Problem is that if I overlap the mortgage and rent I'll be stuffed...
-
• #2016
^ mortgage is in arrears and rent is in advance so you should actually end up with a months worth of rent in hand if you work it out properly.

Super. I was thinking about taking my stuff to my dad's in Norfolk and finding a sofa to crash on for a couple of weeks, but it'll probably be more trouble that it's worth. Plus I work shifts so would be an anti-social guest.

My BMW is a work of art.
That Dagenham dustbin wouldn't suit my image.

Pimping your own articles Sparky? Tut tut ;)
The way that I look at it (and I suspect that many others are the same) is that I don't really care about the end price. To be frank, at the moment, my house value could have dropped 20%, and I'd still be up over having rented. I don't think that I've even seen that point of view in an article about house prices, which is a shame, as it's an interesting point, although not one that holds for everyone.
Not sure you can replicate a P60.
We just provided 3x payslips for our mortgage. Can't see why they wouldn't accept something from your employer on recent earnings.
