Chancel indemnity insurance sounds like a nice cash cow business to be in.

seriously though - rights of light insurance. I write a report 9caveated to fuck, natch), that outlines the risks, the legal standings, the impact of the proposed development, then I provide compensation budgets for what I think it will take to negotiate a deal with the neighbours to release their light.
RoL insurance covers you for the financial costs of the neighbour successfully gaining an injunction, the premiums are based up my comp budgets. I get a referrers fee, for introducing the client to the broker, which is based upon the cost of the premium!
[edit - the absurd thing is that I have been doing this for 15 years and not one neighbour has ever wanted to protect their light more than they wanted the compensation. see previous post - we all want our slice...]

I like to think that BRM grew up wanting to defend people's lights, after attending an inspirational left wing rally whilst suffering with a slight ear infection.

Certain I went on a 'Light to Work' march back in the '80s.
Saw Billy Bragg and Red Wedge play.
(Might have been suffering from a slight ear infection). -
• #19614
Wasn't Red Wedge the 'movement', bringing together musicians supportive of Labour, rather than a band?

Needs Mick's Swayze/Cameron mash up of with the "protecting light for future generations...." quote.
Can you oblige?

I thought with the wordplay on 'Right to Work',
I was setting the scene to take the piss out of people, (like me),
who are old enough to have gone on any of those futile '80s marches against
'Maggie Outoutout' (as some may have mistakenly thought to be her surname),
and have lost some of the detail.
With the passage of time I am unable to remember if the Paul Weller appearance I saw was a Style Council gig, (on the back of a flatbed truck), or, 'PW + friends'.
tl:dr online humour, forget it. -

Back on party wall agreements.
I'm in a converted, into two flats, terrace. I own a share of the building freehold together with the guy who owns downstairs. We each have a lease for our respective flats.
I'm doing a loft conversion. He has OK'd the loft conversion but do I need to formally serve a Party Wall Notice? I'm not sure if it is necessary, I don't think any work is happening on the boundary.

I went to see the Windmill today, it was as fantastic as I thought it would be, but the converted stable block cum bungalow was awful. I simply couldn't see the value in the place - anyone who could afford the asking price would not live in the bungalow, i.e. the asking price is too high, but then there's the windmill.
My view is that the windmill, cool as it is, actually has a neutral (or possibly negative) value due to how in encumbers the land and associated buildings via both the grade 1 listing and the maintenance of said windmill. Still, I'm sure it'll find a buyer at some point.
This is pretty cool: https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/44659438?search_identifier=7de15426ebf67ca9158cbc7f18957f8d#Xp7jVhf5I0FvIDv1.97
