Nice one! Is this your first purchase?
-
• #19228
Yep. Still conditions (set by us) but got it for a good chunk under the asking price.

crime isn't an obvious problem, until my 13 year-old ironically had his phone stolen off him at the bus stop about two hours ago
Probably happens any proverbial day of the week in London/Anytown (except Leicester of course :) )
My teenage son and daughter had phones 'nicked' off them via threats of violence*. They appear to just accept it as 'normal' but parents don't necessarily feel the same way.- SE12

phone number innit.
It's Norwich, everyone around here knows the area code
-
• #19238
01603.
And I don't even live in Norwich.
Ipswich is 01473.
I'm pretty good on most East Anglian towns, tho I'm not sure about Kings Lynn, maybe 01553?

Is this for those weird phones that are always plugged into the wall? Do they still have them in Norfolk?
-
• #19240
We've still got a hole to plug one of those in. It's just behind the broadband router.

• #19241
This. Wtf. @TomvanHalen you don't need to call the council, you need to call fucking Time Team

Kate has such bad signal in the house she's thinking of getting one. I'm holding my ground against the idea for now.

So selling my flat. The EA agent recommended solicitor is only £100 more than the quotes I have received from some independents in the area, and includes a "no completion no fee" clause in it. The independents usually have some kind of clause to say if a completion fails you pay £150 per hour of work undertaken up to that point.
Is it a no brainer, I should use the EA one right?
-
• #19244
You could go back to the indies and tell them they look expensive compared to the EA and ask them if they want to fix that.
Out of interest what were they asking for?
-
• #19245
got a specific name? check out some google reviews.
-
• #19246
I do like the no complete no fee clause, everyone seems to have a story about buyer drop outs at the final hour.
EA asking for £1200 + VAT (leasehold fees included)
Best independent (and recommend in the thread) £1100 + VAT -

Not really sure, they call them "Felicity J Lord Legal Services" and also "Spicerhaart’s Legal Services", which I think own FJL?
-
• #19248
I guess you don't need to decide until you've found a buyer?
-
• #19249
No I don't, just trying to get ahead of the curve so it doesn't turn into a rush job once/if I do accept an offer.

Not sure if any of you guys are getting F'd in the A by Leasehold but it's a good opportunity to make your views known to government - only a few days left:
Oh boy. Offer accepted. Here we go.
