Yeah this.

Where the wall meets the ceiling, i bet there's a real word for that, is cracked.
And where someone mounted a curtain rail, it's gone all cracked. -

Sound advice, thank you sir.

I always like to leave plaster for 3-6 months. Not always possible but it does take a long time for the crystalline structure to properly harden. A week is about the longest a customer will normally wait!

Sodo > Franco Manco

Il Baccio Express > everyone

You reckon Il Bacio is the best?
-
• #14584
No way is Sodo better than Franco Manca.
On principle, I would choose local independent over ever expanding Westfield/Broadgate Circus dwellers.
On pizza, Franco every time.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if FrancoManca were opening up in Stratford Westfield... -

any lino brands to look out for that are actually lino, not vinyl called lino?

Forbo Nairn Marmoleum, used it in my kitchen
-
• #14588
Forbo "Marmoleum" is the big one - http://www.forbo.com/flooring/en-gl/products/linoleum/cmlack
There's also Armstrong "Marmorette" but I've never come across it IRL. http://www.armstrong.com/flooring/products/linoleum -

Rubber's another floor option I forgot. Not sure how sustainable it is as a complete product, although latex is harvested from trees (as is cork) so should be better than vinyl. I quite like the circular studded stuff in jolly colours, that may also remind you of school...

Still in the midst of trying to buy and sell a house. It's a tedious and occasionally stressful process.

Excellent. The time it's taken me to prep the lounge walls is clearly about right then. Not sure if I exhibited my amateurish plastering yet. Hope the decorators say it's good enough for lining paper

Don't want to come across as rude, but I wouldn't lining paper that.

Covered in dust right now:

It does look worse in the photo than reality but it's definitely not a great finish, however it's really not much different to the walls I didn't touch. I might have a stab at improving the finish this weekend

Do you live in a clunch cottage? If so it looks good, if not, then not so much.
-
• #14597
It looks terrible. Sorry but that's awful.

Can anybody recommend a good end of tenancy cleaner?

What did you use as a smoothing float, a garden rake?
Truly awful.

Forbo is amazing we use it in commercial kitchens all the time.
I've got rubber Noraplan floor tiles in my kitchen - easy lay and cut with a Stanley knife.
We had our loft conversion painted very quickly after the plasterer finished. It all settled down afterwards so now there are lots of minor cracks. So don't rush.
