I only gave my usual number to 3 agents yesterday, so I think I can deal with them poiltely and patiently... to a point... at least they call because you have asked them to (once upon a time), what I can't really stand is PPI / gas change / you have been involved in an accident etc calls...

It's all or nothing, and the offer can only be accepted by a majority of the qualifying tenants in the building (that is, tenants holding long leases), so you'd need the cooperation of your fellow tenant(s).
The sale of the freehold won't affect your status or the terms of your lease. All that changes is the identity of the freeholder. They might be a cunt, which would be bad, or they might be nice, which would be good.
Oh, and no, no spare £750k here. Soz.

Register with the Telephone Preference Service. It doesn't screen everything, especially if you've bought a product from a company at some point. I was given the link years ago when my brother worked at an Indian call centre, apparently there are rules that call centres have to follow!
Largely it's worked for quite a few years, ymmv.

Is this area as bad as people say??
-
• #13906
I think most of it has stopped now. I was getting a lot of calls from ambulance chasers for about 3 years since my RTC, the funny thing was that none of them ever offered half as much as what my laywer actually got me in the end.

It's handy for IKEA and Crystal Palace FC.

• #13908
it's not hard to go to IKEA where I am now and I don't know a thing about football... lol

The makings of a perfect Palace fan.

Keep your head down during home games and you'll be fine. I'm at the top of Grange Road and I like it here.
I'm surprised that place hasn't been re-jigged into a two bed. I would be easily done.

You have just moved reently, right?
I was looking at the plan and I was thinking the exact same thing. I think it's because (if the plan is absolutely accurate) you'd have to go pass the living room to the bedroom...

Yes, Sept last year.

We might be neighbours soon then... that is if I can actually get a mortgage...

Good luck!
You'd have a decent sized Tesco on your doorstep and a big Sainsburys round the corner. Easy train journey to Victoria if you need. Close to IKEA for new house/cheap furniture bits and bobs. 15 min walk/5 ride to my shed that is becoming better stocked with bike tools by the week. Also, there's an ALDI over in Norwood Junction that I've got a lot of use out of.

are you offering your neighbourly hand if/when it comes to tools borrowing?? ;-)

They're gonna need more active use to keep mrs_com from questioning their taking up of space!
Happy for anyone to drop by and make use. Have a Park stand and many tools.

Anyone in East got a drill/circular saw I could borrow this weekend? Will be using to lay floor.
-
• #13918
You want a mitre/chop saw for that really- straight cuts are essential.
Unless this is your sheets of ply floor?
-
• #13919
I've got an angle grinder that you can use joe if you are just chopping up lengths of ply

Angle grinder for timber!? shocked face

We had our flat valued to get a Buy To Let back in May, we're doing the rental ourselves rather than using an agency to save on fee's etc...
Nearly a year later, I am still getting calls from fucking Foxtons telling me that my flat is in a desirable area if I'm looking to sell.
Absolute wasps the lot of them!

I've cut loads of wood with it. You just need to take your time and make sure the wood doesn't get too hot.
I think you can also get a dedicated wood cutting blade for it, but I've always used a diamond blade.
You would be advised not to use it for a finished surface but for a sub floor it'll do the job, as long as you take it steady
-
• #13923
Thinking about it I've also got a light weight jigsaw in the shed but I'm pretty sure I snapped the blades a while back and forgot to replace

Are these costs inc or ex VAT?

They're not too bad about changing the number as long as the new number works. The danger is if they keep the old one on record and try that when the burner number dies.
The alternative is finding out your unique voicemail number and give them that. That way your phone never rings but you get the VMs from them.
