Oh my fucking God. Got the contract through and Simon is now Christopher apparently. Fuck sake. Can't they get anything right.
-
• #11959
So fucking frustrating that houses cost so much yet the people dealing with them can be so incompetent. I hope it all is sorted soon.
-
• #11960
It's so annoying. The flipping letter is addressed to Simon yet the Deed has Christopher because that's not an important document to check!
-
• #11961
'kinell that's bad. it may be quicker & cheaper to get simon to change his name.

I was Stephen for some reason. An industry populated by utter fucking morons.

My girlfriend's name was spelt wrong on the first contract we got sent through. Requested corrected name, second contract sent through with name spelt wrong again. Different spelling to the first but still wrong. It really shouldn't be that hard to get this stuff right. If I was designing an ad for a brand and somehow used the wrong logo I'd be toast

Ours had spaces for us to write them in in pencil.

Apparently it's ok to just cross it out and put the right name if you initial next to it, hmm not sure about that one but hey ho let's sign away!

And you pay for this service?
-
• #11967
My thoughts exactly. Annoyingly this solicitor was recommended to us by a friend.

We recently had our boiler serviced by someone we found at mybuilder.com (firm were called plumbmintos Ltd, no idea if they do Putney) and were really impressed. Quote seemed very reasonable and the chap they sent out was excellent. Being able to see reviews - and the tradespeople people being very focused on getting good reviews - certainly worked for us.

Yup; correct.
The missus took my surname halfway through the process of buying our house. Just crossed out the old, wrote the new and initialed. All good.

I used to deal with a solicitor who wouldn't move any purchasing processes forward unless he had twenty of the same thing to do.
It was infuriating to say the least.

PM'd you a number.

Seller: "We'd like a quick sale"
Us: "great, us too"Fast forward 10 weeks...
Why the fuck am I still waiting on their solicitor to answer requests/send paperwork that was asked for in week 1.
Shower of cunts. I've spent too much money and time (and can't afford anything else that's come up for sale) so can't walk away but fuck me this is frustrating.
I told the estate agent I was looking elsewhere which seems to have had the desired effect but things are still moving at what seems like a snail's pace.

So annoying, our seller wanted a quick sale then pissed off on holiday for 2 weeks without paying his solicitor but yours takes the biscuit, still waiting on stuff asked for in week 1, jeez!
-
• #11974
Our solicitor went on holiday a week ago (for 14 days) without informing us.
We are now trying to exchange with a locum. -

What a dick!
We've got a front garden wall which is a single brick width all the way along. The coping at the moment is just disgusting concrete blocks, which have all fallen off anyway. Is there any nicer way of capping a single width wall?
