It was pretty big 760sq ft
The other offer we put in was on a place in Leyton but needed a fair bit of work. Reckon I'll be getting my tools out...
Need to fix up and sort out getting you that jersey!

Yep - we went in at 450 and thought that was punchy!

Jebus. Didn't realise they were going for that now. We live on the ground floor (1 bed) of the same kind of building and that was 290 last May.
I've noticed the ones that are obviously owned by designer types go for a lot more. We lost out to a 1 bed of that exact flat, it looked very similar, for 350. Bonkers.

Yeah I am a BG existing customer, bastards.

That is bonkers money for E17... One designer mate paid £90k for his house in 1999 and the other paid $170k for his two bed flat in 2005...

Anything in London's Famous London is bonkers.

Yup. My lass' mate got her one bed basement dungeon near the station for 150 two years ago and just sold it for 300...

I'm pretty relieved to be out of the London property race... Bloody shame tho', there's no other city I'd live in... OK, maybe NYC...

Moved away from the SE after 12 years last year. Happy back in t'norf.
I have proper countryside on the doorstep now and pubs that charge £2.50 for a decent pint.

And you don't have to go to a carpark roof to get a pizza.

I prefered it before:

I just use Just Eat tbh.
Unless you have a real problem with getting phone signal?

How would of you got to the garden?

Too convoluted to explain, but no.

Just out of interest, is anyone looking for a huge (1,300 sq ft) 3-bed period flat with garden and garage less than 5 mins walk from Brockley station? And has £600k+ to spend? Might be looking to sell soon...
-
• #11267
How about £465k?

Contract signed!
Off to chat to another lender now...

Not too bad in all honesty.
Couple of places in Wimbledon look as if they'll stack up. Should really get back to do the paperwork and money stuff.
I reckon another crash might well be on the not-too-distant horizon.

I was being snarky about Frankies but never mind :p

I take it anyone buying for the first time in London these days is having to put down an absolutely heroic deposit, more often than not courtesy of the bank of ma & pa? Otherwise one would have to be earning fucking serious wedge to meet the lending criteria on a £350k + mortgage?
-
• #11272
£2.50 for a decent pint.
I can get (close to) that in my local Weatherspoons
-
• #11273
If you're buying on your own you need a lot of cash and a very well paid job. I'm buying with my girlfriend - we both earn decent wages and we can just about afford a two bed flat in a decent area.

They have nailed that one.
A word from the owner....
" We love living in this vibrant area of London. It is very local and yet you find people from all corners of the world walking down the market. Inside the property we have created a living space with great attention to materials, the light and the spacious rooms. All firmly grounded in the middle of Walthamstow Central"So wanky, so profit making.

I live in the area if you have any questions.
Yeah it's really nicely done out actually. Doesn't look massive though, despite everything being white and fisheye lensed.
The smart money is in Forest Gate!
