  • Get a robo mower.

  • The ones which have come up lovely at our place looked a LOT shitter than that to start with. I will post details of who did ours when I get home, but I would happily recommend them to anyone, they were great.

The work was scheduled to take at least two days, but the showed up at 8:00am on Good Friday (sorry neighbours) and worked 12 hours straight without a break and did it all in a day. It looks great too.

If you don't need any extra boards, anything relaying or any filling done it should work out about a third of the price of new flooring, underlay and labour, and will always look better.

  • I was lazy and got these guys in. would recommend.

  • won't you think of the hedgehogs!

  • Hot damn. Those before and after photos make me all kinds of happy.

  • If we haven't set up a utility supplier yet but have turned the lights on, what happens?

  • I'll see if I can dig some photos out of here, thought not sure we did a particularly good job of documenting the 'before'. Life is much better since their visit.

e: b / a. photos were not taken with intention of showing floor (obvs).

  • It was these guys that we used:

    The Floor Sanding Experts

    Highly recommended as I said

  • I will post details of who did ours when I get home

    Yes please

  • See post immediately above yours!

  • Though it says they're based in W6 I think they're actually a network of local sanders. We're in E7 so E17 would hopefully get the same guy.

The guy who did our original quote looked just like Meggy from This Is England. Thankfully he didn't shit on our floor.

  • Oops. New page fail

  • Look better condition than my current exposed and treated floorboards. Go nuts.

  • Lovely day to move.

  • So we have both BT fibre optic and Virgin cable.

  • how much is that setting you back?!?!

  • And tell us which is the better of the two :-)

  • I mean, we have both cables/boxes. We don't have accounts with either but BT do 300mbp/s :o

  • BT and Virgin

Hmm, problem is that they're both a bunch of cunts.

  • I called up plusnet (who I am with currently) and the move from my current place to new one seems painless and free (BT Openreach fiber based connection £35 a month with line rental).

  • Yeah, BT are expensive and Virgin block loads of stuff.
    Gonna be plusnet I think.

  • Virgin block loads of stuff.

  • hahaha

  • Fnar!

Electrician coming round tomorrow to quote for a rewire, new consumer unit, add/move some sockets and fit smoke detectors.
