Foxtons are a funny lot. They basically asked us to offer x% below asking price because they had just opened in the area and weren't making commission so just needed to fill the books.
They're a bit hastle-y but they don't get payed much and have a pretty dire job. -

Never, ever, make excuses for Estate Agents. They made their choice to sell their souls when they took the job.

Haha! Yeah... I agree. Its just that foxtons were the least cunty out of all the ones we dealt with.
Just imagine what Stow brothers and Estates 17 are like... -

I should've cut out the middle man and just bought shares in Kingfisher. Off to B&Q again today.
On the plus side, we now have a fully furnished flat. Just some subtle finessing to go.
Any recommendations for a handyman/carpenter to put up some shelves etc? I could do it but probably not to a standard that won't annoy me every time I look at it;
extra shelf inserts for kitchen cupboard (need some extra white melamine type shelves cut and those little holes drilled for the shelf studs)
need a series of shelves fitted into the alcoves either side of the fireplace in lieu of a bookcase
some floating shelves in the kitchen
That sort of thing.

We've found a house here in Oz we like, going for a look on Tuesday... Fingers crossed!

Just off church hill/prospect hill road. Seemed a nice area?
-
• #10117
Yeah that is quite nice, near the village and not too far from Lloyd Park etc.
-
• #10118
Yeah, its good round there. It's a funny area - there are little pockets of really nice bits and large swathes of pretty crappy bits.
Estate agents will be referring to Church Hill as the Village soon... -

An 'added benefit' which is 'perfect for the live-in nanny'.
Being an estate agent would be lols.

I love how you can take a shit in the living room. Such convenience.

Hahhahhahhahhaha! Fuck London! I realise how this is gonna sound, but if I didn't have the good fortune of already owning a home here, there is no way on earth I would buy one now, even with the ability to do so. Half-a-mill for that sorry dump. God help us.
