I don't want to make light of horror, but fuck me, I hate how these casualties so quickly become pawns, fuel for viewing figures and political leverage, mere excuses for sanctions. The pervy need for that 'sensitive' image of a severed limb makes me sick. There is a need to report, I grant that, but horror porn is as bad as those that created the disaster, dry humping the corpse of the fallen for a medal, an award, an engorged column inch.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the people this offends. They clearly don't have enough brain cells firing on full power to know what/who the target of the writing actually is.

Like the people who thought Brass Eye were making light of paedophilia.

I do think 'strong' words offend and that doesn't reflect on intelligence, merely sensibility. For that I genuinely apologise. There are many people more enlightened than I who might not like what I'm saying, but I write as I see it. It's my opinion.
