I currently use this set up.
Bit heavy and perhaps slightly OTT.

So you guys are saying he's not a troll?

I still dont know what a troll is...
I know the wiki definition: "In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."
But why would this be considered trolling? Is it cause hes trying to start a thread that causes Face plants and funny pictures simply for the reaction?
Actually, i find this very funny - you guys make me laugh. (But if it is cause hes trying to cause a reaction, i shouldnt find it funny...) Not that anyone cares...

2 Krypto mini D's. Easy enough to carry around, plenty of locking options, just never leave a bike locked up where you cant see it or get to it within 30 seconds to check it. Never leave a bike worth more than £300 locked up outside for more than an hour. If you want to leave you bike outside a pub or club, ALMAX chain + 2 mini D's and remove everything from it that an allen key or adjustable spanner will allow. Then try getting into the club with your seatpost/saddle combo and your drops. you will net be let in and you'll have to cycle home to swap for your beater, which you don't mind getting nicked, keyed or kicked in, now you get into the party, but - the DJ whose set you wanted to see will have finished, all the drugs will be gone and all the pretty girls will have paired off with non bike riding people who smell better than you anyway... at least you have your bike.

As mentioned on a previous thread. Spiderweb is incredibly strong for its weight. Now you'll need to invest a fair amount of time traing say 70 - 80 spiders* to spin cords covering all your removable parts, but the pay off is worth it if you value your bike.
(*do not use funnel web spiders as their web style provides a 'leverage point' for crowbars)

Lock thread with price guides? Eg the best in certain price brackets. Some of us don't have the top of the range all singing all dancing bikes and the locks on that thread are more than some people paid for bike.

At least spell my name right.
Wow.

Seriously. People are trying to help. You are not listening.
You have one mouth and two ears - you should use them in that proportion.
Well I have done a search but my searchfu skills are poor.
Is there a definitive thread about cycle security, on the stolen bike thread there isn't really mention of the locks/security that were defeated, maybe it should mention, if known, how the lock was defeated.
So what kind of lock/chain/security combo would you recommend? Should we divide a section so we can provide advice for differing price brackets. Is this here already?
