  • vb, not sure where the new posts, posts today button has gone, was in the top left, but now I'm only seeing the posts button bottom right, but it scares me, I can't really navigate round the site any other way...

will it return or is it in a drop down menu that I just haven't found yet...

  • I suspect you need to CTRL+F5 to get the latest version.

  • i just did and nothing happened, should it be done in the thread your in or the initial forum page,
right now viewing on an old version of explorer on a very slow work pc..

    will try again now..

  • no need to panic, all is well, all is well, the posts button has reappeared for me...

  • Cool.... it should look something like the attached screenshot:

  • VB ... did I just see a reference to the reputation system on one of the User CP pages?

  • No idea... did you?

And you might all need to CTRL+F5 again as I've just had to change a file to make the search page work.

  • Crikey - you go out for an hour and by the time you get back the world has moved on. Scary.

  • Yep, in edit options...

    Edit Options: Skully
    Login & Privacy

    Use Invisible Mode
Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists.

    Show Your Reputation Level
Your current reputation level is displayed to other users whenever you post a message. If you would like to hide your reputation, disable this option.

    etc etc

  • My beloved User CP button has moved :.(

Now I keep clicking on the other tabs by accident. Can we have this back?

  • cntl+f5, zed... then look

  • I'm confused! Might be something to do with the new header, I'm not sure (I am confused after all, so what do you expect!)

  • Yeah, I see it Skullfresh, but when I scroll over User CP then over to Control Panel, I keep hitting People and Photos, which makes Control Panel disappear.

  • didn't realise you were a grupetto member DK?

  • Cant we get some nice headers, like the great pics we had before, with the SJS logo on them??

I miss the old headers :(

  • I can make that a click rather than a mouseover.

But then you'd need to click to see the content of any tabs

  • didn't realise you were a grupetto member DK?

    Not really.

Well, I am... have strip, will cycle. But I'm over-committed and seldom do anything these days. Just 1 more year of this degree and I will be free!

Or could we just have another "Control Panel" in the "Posts" please?!?!

  • this seems like an opportunistic moment to enquire how the hell i search for a thread on what winter gloves to get. i know we've featured a pretty definitive one last year, but for the life of me I can't find it. is this new jiggery pokery with the buttons and page furniture affecting searches? or is it simply that i'm still a clueless dick?

  • Great work ~~ divine overlord~~ David.

Can we have some colour and panache back up top ^^^ ?

  • Not really.

look forward to seeing you on the windsor run.

  • Is search broken? I get this when I try and use the top right box at the moment: "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing"

    +1

It is laid out well and works nicely now, I agree with SP it's lacking panache and seems a bit clinical.

  • functionally much better. Nice one

  • Me likey but the JS needs to be tweaked so that you can 'cut the corner'. e.g. move the ouse in a straightline from "Posts" to "Subscribed Threads" without it switching to another ribbon (MS Office terminology).

Windows used to be annoying about this kind of thing on the start menu, circa 1998. But then they got wiser from doing $1,000,000,000 usability studies. You can steal their research...
