  • From the picture that's clearly not tar.

I was also told not to use fairly liquid on a bike because of the salt content, I don't know if that's bollocks though.

if the seller says it was tar, im going to believe it was tar.

  • I'm almost impressed by the sellers ingenuity. Actually, I find it quite amusing really.

Is the whole frame consistently like that, can you not just keep it? I like it. It looks just like some 80s style Puma trainers I've got:

If you've not left feedback yet I'd have a word though!

  • yea the whole frames like it, so im not fussed really, i guess it just wasnt to the sellers tastes hence the bogus tar story. could email him and ask him to refund me the £4.99 for the tar and bug cleaner i bought from halfords. or ask him to put it towards a pair of them back kicks so i look extra fly.

anyways, the frames pretty clean now at least.

  • Rode through a "work in progress" road today and got covered in this shit. Wont scrub off, scraping brings the aweful paint with it. Anyone had experience of this? Could just about scrape it off my legs.

  • Your local motor factors or branch of Halfords will be brimming with solutions. I favour this one.

  • at 4x the price

  • I think it adds character?

    Also wd-40 and a rag.

  • Baby oil.

  • My frame is also covered with tar ooze.

I like to wipe that with baby oil too.

  • last time i heard about someone applying babyoil to their bike it ended up in the newspapers ... well the tabloids

  • acetone may do the job, or tar remover for cars

  • Baby oil.
