Merino Clothing (base layers, etc)

has anyone who ordered the wool set from HH got a dispatch email yet? seems that they are delayed for some reason.

Ordered last week, didn´t get a dispatch mail, parcel arrived yesterday.

seems odd as I put in a seperate order and that one went through with dispatch emails and the like.

will wait and see.

I get that from Campmor too, no updates on orders, still 'processing', and then they're at my door.

The only way I can extend the life of my HH baselayers is to shave my armpit hair and use those salt deodorant that kill the bacteria (since they're the one that produced the smell).

The bacteria cling onto your armpit hair, hence shaving it off.

Use an anti bacterial wash for synth baselayers and lycra; Tesco have an own brand one or get Halo from Wiggle. Or even Napisan

The bacteria embed themselves in cavities in the fibres themselves; merino fibres are smooth and have no cavities hence their anti-bac properties.

I think mine always came on worse because I was playing football 3x times a week and football kit ends up being forgotten in a bag until next week "oh no, what's this?"

I switched to bio "destroy everything you hold dear" washing gel stuff - fuck it. Everything smells great now. Except bloody helmets.

Make sure you clean it properly when you shower.

I wash it under boiling hot water when I get home, take the pads out and leave them on the radiator to dry. Still smells. Give up. I even bought some antibac spray stuff, made f-all difference.

piss off. I don't smell - I am borderline OCD about hygiene. Think maybe I just need to switch helmet brands, or dry the fucker off instead of leaving it to drip dry from the shower rail.

Turns out the wool set is 100% merino 195gsm weight. haven't tried them on but £25 for a baselayer and long johns is a billy bargain if they fit me.
